PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES:
Elementary Principal
Parkston School District (Fall 1997 present)
Supervise 40+ staff members and roughly 325 students in a public setting as well as two
Hutterite Colony schools. Ensure curriculum is designed and delivered and that each
child sees success. Oversee the Title One program as well as being involved with a
number of other grants I have written. Served as an assistant golf coach one year,
as well as a volunteer basketball and football coach for grade school students.
High School Principal / Superintendent
Marty Indian School (Fall 1995 Spring 1997)
Supervised 20+ teaching positions and 110 students. Made sure curriculum was
accomplished and handled discipline problems. For 6 months I served a dual role as the
principal and superintendent in charge of approximately 150 staff members at a boarding
school campus.
Business / Computer Teacher
Marty Indian School (Fall 1991 Spring 1995)
Taught Junior High typing along with high school business and computer courses.
Helped in the purchasing of cutting edge technology for the school at that time. Also
served as the head boy s basketball coach as well as the assistant girls basketball coach.
Student Teacher
Parkston High School (Fall 1990)
Assumed all roles of a high school business teacher. Preparing and presenting lessons to
support the district curriculum, managing the classroom, creating a positive learning
environment, assessing student progress, serving as an active member of the school
faculty, participating in parent/teacher conferences, etc.
Combat Medic
South Dakota Army National Guard (Operation Desert Storm 1990 1991)
Did battle field assessments of injured soldiers. Handled routine and traumatic injuries of
soldiers. Awarded four different achievement medals for my actions.
