Responsible for the management of all production activities for a pharmaceutical packaging manufacturer from the printed sheet to the finished product being produced and shipped to worldwide customers. Managed all cost analysis for production, packaging, quality assurance, and shipping. Tracked time sheets of employees for efficiency analysis as well as payroll. During tenure increased profits by 8% by streamlining production systems through use of information obtained through production analysis. Re-wrote 36 of the 42 Standard Operating Procedures the company used for compliance to FDA standards as well as for client requirements within the industry for pharmaceutical pill packaging. Maintained training records, and monitored the computer system used by the company to capture information for continuing analysis. During tenure increased profits over 40% for one product line and 70% for another. Reduced the scrap rate from double digits to less than 2% for each product processed (industry standard is 4%). I transitioned the workforce from a tightly controlled central authority to a decentralized workforce giving the line leads empowerment over their specific production processes. I eliminated overtime requirements to process customer jobs by establishing a more efficient scheduling system and production process for all work. I assisted in the establishment of a preventative maintenance cycle for all equipment.

Special Projects and Operations Permalith Plastics 2002 - 2005

I managed the implementation of a new computer program / system to track inventory, production activities, and costs. Reviewed and analyzed in process production activities to ensure production stayed within budget. Conducted detailed analysis of post- production activities when work exceeded budget to show the cause for the excess funds being spent and suggested what guidelines and or changes were required to ensure that future orders and operations stayed within budget. I conducted detailed time studies and production efficiency trials for baseline data to compare production efficiencies for new equipment and employees to be added to the system. My results were used by the Accountant, Plant Manager, Supervisors, and the Office Manager so that they could set production time lines and adjust schedules according to my findings. I was responsible to review production schedules of the job estimates to ensure all required processes were included. I reviewed newly developed products and made suggestion for improvement and reviewed our capabilities to manufacture them.

During tenure I developed an in house computer program to track yields by machine and operator. I ensured that the product was manufactured to ISO 9002 specifications. I managed the scheduling of production and maintenance priorities on the production floor. Identified production conflicts for work-in process and corrected schedules to streamline the production flow. I increased the production yields of the nightshifts to just over 10% of the old yield rates. Also during my 4 year tenure I maintained 100% on time delivery of finished products to customers without any on job injuries occurring.
