urine and microbiology specimens, perform automated hematology, urinalysis and immunoassays, and rapid immunoassays.
Phlebotomy team support for difficult blood draws, and 1 shift weekly. Report results manually via computer printout or
typewriter. Perform proficiency testing quarterly on the above-mentioned specimens. Quality control on new lot numbers of
reagents or test kits. Answer incoming calls, re-directing to correct extension, answer questions, or take messages. Train
other laboratory assistants, and teach nursing staff CLIA-waived testing.
Head Certified Veterinary Technician, Hillsboro Animal Hospital, 2000-2004
Lead team member for medical care at a 3-doctor veterinary practice. Operated in-house laboratory for hematology,
chemistry, urinalysis, and fecal examinations. Performed phlebotomy, IV catheters, induced and monitored general
anesthesia, surgical assisting, dental hygiene, vaccinations and other injections, client education. Developed and instigated
Wellness Packages, a benefit package purchased by owners for preventative care for their pets. Oversaw product inventory,
ordering and pricing. Supervisor of one other CVT and a Veterinary Assistant.
