Worked as a substance abuse counselor, mental health worker and treatment coordinator for their
inpatient, outpatient and partial hospital programs. Providing, individual, group, and

clerical and medical documentation and aftercare. Their population includes substance abuse,
depression, bi-polar, schizophrenia, eating disorders, anxiety disorders and borderline personality

Provided assessments for licensed practitioners to diagnose naval personnel for alcohol
dependence and abuse. Coordinated intensive outpatient treatment programs, provided out reach
education to Naval Recruits, Conducted workshops on substance abuse prevention at the Naval
War College, acted as liaison for Naval health care New England to provide access to substance
abuse treatment for all military commands in the New England area. Provided individual and
group counseling, referral, treatment planning, aftercare, staff supervision and military clerical
documentation for all command contact.

Worked as a co-facilitator with a trained gestalt psychotherapist, in twelve-week human
interaction groups for men. Practiced skills during sessions involving anger release work,
relationship conflict resolution, healing physical and sexual abuse, art therapy, drumming and
other types of hands on therapy. Two hours of training and supervision weekly were required.
The agency provides EAP services, individual and group psychotherapy, couples counseling, and
family interventions as well as community personal growth education.

Worked in 125 bed alcohol and drug inpatient rehab evenings, interacting with patients
beginning their recovery from addiction, leading twelve step recovery groups, escorting patients
to AA meetings, providing crisis intervention, passive counseling and recovery guidance.
Facilitated recovery groups for detoxification services. Required to provide documentation,
progress notes, psychosocial assessments, and aftercare planning.
