Lead EDI interphase with 2 major retailers. Brought the measurement of inventory control and turns to the organization. Identified Obsolete materials and positioned for sale.

Lakes Cold Storage, (Contract General Manager) Frozen Foods 3PL Start-Up

This included all responsibilities encompassing: inventory control system selection, warehouse lay-out, training, process and procedure development and implementation, metric development, equipment selection and acquisition, customer calls and P&L review. This project resulted in the sale of Lakes Cold Storage to NorAm at a material profit.

Protient, Associated British Foods, (Contract Supply Chain Manager)

Managed Supply Chain for a $104M Milk and Whey proteins manufacturer. Renegotiation of 2 Supplier Agreements and severance and consolidation of select suppliers. These actions resulted in a savings of over $1.6M. Implementation of Weekly: Sales and Operations, Production Meeting. The hiring of the new Purchasing Manager and the dismissal of the previous Purchasing Manager. Global National Supply Chain, Protient`s Leader, interaction with finance to co-report savings initiative and realized savings to date, to projected fiscal periods and annual fiscal savings.

Mason Brothers Company, (Contract Category Manager)

Management of Buying Department; product selection and merchandising of 17,000 skus for a regional grocery wholesaler. Data mining to develop optimal product mix and merchandising format designed to enable Mason Brothers to effectively compete. Sales increase of 8%. Concentration of meat purchases that led to complete meat purchases going through Mason Brothers solely.

Bumble Bee Foods LLC, Connors Brothers 1999 to 2007

Managed United States distribution and warehousing: comprising eight third party distribution centers, 1 company owned and operated distribution center, four plants and 250 co-packers. Development and implementation of Distribution network and integration on 3 different occasions due to buy-outs and acquisitions. Bumble Bee had subsidiaries with separate supply chain systems, but was blocked by lack of suitable locations from merging operations. Identified opportunity for consolidating all supply chain operations while reducing existing locations. Sourced and oversaw installation of new infrastructure. Realized new economies of scale. Complete Budget responsibilities, totaling more then $12M per year. Finished Goods Inventory Control and Book Inventory reconciliations 98% on time fill rates, 99.3% order accuracy. Corrected chargeback process flaw for Bumble Bee, saving $2.5M on unsaleables in one year. Revamped ERP system, correcting inventory inaccuracies and increasing on-time order fulfillment 4.2%.

Louis Kemp Seafoods, (division of Bumble Bee Seafoods.)

Director of Logistics 1999 - 2003

Created new logistics network for Louis Kemp following buyout, enabling seamless transition. Company was acquired by International Home Foods without logistics system. Recruited to build new network. Researched requirements and options, designing and implementing system. Implemented national logistics pool program, saving $850K in transportation costs. Went operational in 60 days and reached full capacity in 120 days. Shipped 18 million lbs. first year with no service interruptions. The company had no loss of customer sales, moreover there was no customer service interruption. Sales were increased by 17% in the first year.

Texas Health Distributors, (division of Whole Foods)

Implementation of secondary warehouse to separate dry goods from refrigerated goods. Included the budgeting/purchase and implementation of racking, slotting; transportation implications of 2 warehouses and order consolidation with temperature barriers on given order shipments. The warehouse management and order management systems change facilitation with IT & customer service support.

Circle International

Distribution Center Manager

65K square foot facility. Servicing Air and Ocean freight out of the O`Hare complex. Implemented profitable crating operation. Established integrated international supply chain for JI Case and International Harvester out of this facility. Implemented and maintained ISO 9002 certification.

LS Heath, Hershey

Distribution Manager

Integration of 3 production facilities into a $7M expansion. This included implementation of a new WMS which included RF Bar-coding. It also included a raw and packaging warehouse that was 100K square foot of narrow aisle high bay with push back racking. Designed and implemented with my leadership. Proposed and secured drop and hook transportation. Ultimately secured transit hold shipping of chocolate items before curing had completed.
