Concept Development, Requirements, and Architectures5 years experience developing Operational Concepts, defining Capability and System Requirements and integrating architectures for various clients that build unmanned aircraft and weapon systems using Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) products and other system architecture views and related information supporting the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) process. Currently working on the CONOPS analysis for the USMC Vertical Take-off Unmanned Aircraft System (VTUAS) Joint Concept Technology Demonstration (JCTD) involving the Kaman Aerospace K-Max UAS. Intimately familiar with the recently released Aircraft Survivability Initiation Capabilities Document (AS ICD) and the supporting Capabilities Based Assessment (CBA) from which it is derived.Assisted several companies in developing and marketing missile warning systems, hostile fire indication systems, chaff/flare dispenser systems.Completed several requirements analyses for EW systems. Won work with the Aviation/Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center to draft DODAF documents derived from the US Army AS ICD for the Joint Common Architecture portion of the Modular Integrated Survivability (non-ATO) program. Developed nine US Army Operational View–6 (OV-6) Concepts for the Excalibur Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), drafted high-level and low-level system requirements defining the performance expectations of these concepts in a tactical environment. I conducted an in-depth payload systems analysis for weapons, sensors and electronic warfare payloads which resulted in three papers totally more than 300 pages. Additionally, I developed 2 slideshows with approximately 100 total slides. All products were intended to support the production of the draft Concept Capability Document (CCD) for the TIER IV UAS.Thoroughly familiar with the DoD UAS Roadmap, CJCS Manual 3170.01 series, and the US Army Concept Capability Plans for both Aviation and Electronic Warfare.Developed the OV-6 Concepts for the Metal Storm Crowd Control System (MSCCS). Conducted a non-lethal ammunition industry survey for the MSCCS.Assisted with the development of Operational View–6 (OV-6) Concepts for the Operational Air Vehicle II (GoldenEye-50/80) program for a DARPA sponsored project. Assisted with the development of OV-6 Concepts for the Excalibur (UAS) for the United States Marine Corps.Developed new concepts combining a company's 3 different technologies to develop a new type of MANPAD/Hostile Fire Indication survivability system. Drafted CONOPS, High-Level Capability Requirements, and Low-Level Capability Requirements for a LiDAR based obstacle and landing warning system to be used by Manned and unmanned aircraft.Drafted extensive OV-2 Information Exchange Requirements diagrams for the Future Vertical Lift program that covers manned Army helicopters, Optionally-Manned Aircraft and Unmanned Aircraft. Collected, analyzed, and refined requirements for the US Army’s Degraded Visual Environment (DVE) acquisition program and input the results into DOORS.
MILITARY20 Years experience in the US Army as an AH-64 Aviator Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Electronic Warfare (EW)Wrote The AH-64A vs. North Korea, a definitive EW analysis of the North Korean threat, its strengths and weaknesses as compared to the Apache attack helicopter's ASE equipment along with recommended tactics, techniques, and procedures.4 years experience as a Tactical Information Management Officer for an Aviation Brigade Tactical Operations Center (TOC) managing a robust network of fifty-one computers to include dial-in clients and two servers. These duties included defining requirements and capabilities, training operators, troubleshooting, upgrading the network, managing soldiers and contractors and integrating this network into the larger Army architecture. 6th Cavalry Tactical Upgrade - $217,000. I managed the selection and purchase of $99,000 of computer hardware to include, laptops, high-end workstations, displays, high performance switches, and other IT hardware/software to support a network upgrade of the Brigade Headquarters. I also managed a similar upgrade for a Squadron Headquarters with $26,000. Furthermore, I managed the solicitation and budget requirements for a $92,000 IT contract.
OTHERMember of the national Board of Directors for the Association of Old Crows, an international electronic warfare/information operations professional association with a $3 million annual budget. I have been a member of the team that has turned around the association's budget and membership numbers.Board member of the local Huntsville Chapter of the Association of Unmanned Vehicles and Systems International (AUVSI) with the responsibility of raising $23,000 annually through symposium sponsorships.
