Electrical Engineering, Lead Designer

Hired as first electrical staff member in local office of Carter & Burgess, Inc. Performed all electrical duties as only electrical staff member for first year of employment. Provided the San Antonio office with it’s first ever internal electrical engineering resource.Lead the electrical design of a wide variety of projects including financial, educational, commercial, and industrial facilities as well as transportation projects.

Manufacturing Engineering

Introduced CAD drafting and full-color illustrations into shop floor assembly instructions to speed production and reduce errors.Evaluated and initiated the use of computer-controlled conformal coating machinery. Conducted specialty training for machine operators and wrote operation and maintenance manual.

Served as electrical department CAD Representative and member of G.C. Designed and drafted for private land development and public works engineering projects. Performed engineering tasks such as voltage drop calculations, conductor and conduit sizing, single phase and three phase power panel layouts and load balancing, standby generator sizing and integration, PLC selection, layout and connection, P&ID diagrams, logic flowcharts and more. Reviewed and responded to contractors’ product submittals during construction phases. Projects include municipal water pumping stations and reservoirs, sewer lift stations, street lighting and parking lot lighting. Became very fluent in roadway lighting analyses and streetlight circuiting, including projects ranging from small residential streets to the Las Vegas beltway high mast lighting as well as bridge lighting.
