OBJECTIVE:

To obtain a challenging construction manager or site manager or lead position utilizing my construction, engineering and Computer knowledge and experience, specializing in Power plant construction & Engineering, Equipment management, managing with the sub contractors, schedule while widening my horizon in construction field, with a progressive company that offers opportunities for carrier growth.

SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:

A detail oriented professional with over 28 years experience, most of the experience with GE in USA, Canada and in Middle east, in engineering & construction management of Power plant, multi story buildings, roads, pump houses and switch yards, Pre- stressed concrete Bridges.

I have also experience in construction and erection of Stacks and Towers for High Tension, High Voltage cable and Tower crane foundations. All phase of engineering and construction from design/ drawing review, specification review. Worked as acting construction manager in absence of the construction manager at Ras Abu Fontas, project in Qatar. Attained weekly progress meetings and walk down with the client. Part of the Safety committee, and attained safety meetings and safety walk down with the clients. Review scope of Work, arrange and attained Pre-Bid and Bid award meetings. Coordinate between client and the sub-contractors, Scheduling CPM, Prepare the Bid documents for the Sub-Contractors. Checking and forwarding the invoices for cost control. 10 hours OSHA safety trained always safety and quality conscious. In all projects part of safety team. Quality was most important concern after Safety in my entire project. Could never compromise with Quality and Safety issues.

EXPERIENCE:

09/2011 – Present. Disi Water Company. Amman, Jordan; Chief Resident Engineer.

Join this project of Water Conveyance system, this is a potable water system to produce and transfer of 100MCM of water per year to city of Amman. The system consists of 55 production wells and 9 Piezometer wells, number of Tanks and two reservoirs of 150 cu m and total of 370 km DI and Steel pipe line.

My responsibility to manager all the construction team including Wellfield, Pipeline, Structure, Mechanical and Electrical. Ensure the EPC Contractor (GAMA Power) compliance to all contract requirements. Review, and guidance to EPCC in relation to the QA/QC, HSE, Document Control, Provision of deliverables. Provide technical support when dealing with the client and local authorities. Provide bi weekly and monthly progress report. Deal with the EPCC and the Ministry of Water and Irrigation of Kingdom of Jordan. As well as Ministry of Public Works and Housing and the Greater Amman Municipality, and other related authorities. Review, and guidance to EPCC with regards to the commissioning and Start-Up and testing ITPs and Procedures.

Position of Chief Resident Engineer is basically equivalent to the site manager, in addition to the above mentioned responsibilities also dealing with the FAT, involves with the cost and invoices of the Engineering Company (Halcrow), check the milestone reports for the milestone payments to EPCC. Signing off NCRs checking of the FCRs, ITPs, Procedures, also involve with the Quality, progress, commissioning and EHS and Safety issues.

01/2010 – 07/2011. GE International, Kuwait; Senior Civil/Structural / Piping Engineer:

Join GE for the combined cycle Gas Turbine Power Project in Kuwait. It was a joint Venture between GE and Hyundai Heavy Industries. There are six (6) Gas Turbines and 3 Steam Turbines. It is a fast track project for Ministry of Electricity and water of Kuwait.

I am responsible for all the civil and steel structure of the project, including all the inspection of all the foundations, responding the RFIs, site memorandums and technical queries, from client or sub-contractors. Responsibility includes the QA/QC of civil and steel structure. Coordinate with the client, Arrange weekly progress meetings with the owner engineers.

The total combine cycle production would be 2000 MW, with 9FA Combustion Turbines and 3 Steam Turbines. Also responsible for all the Piping, that includes Fuel oil, Fuel Gas, Service water and Seawater pipes as well as the cleanliness of the pipes.

08/2007 – 08/2009. PSEG New Jersey; Senior Civil / Structural Engineer:

Join Back End Technology (BET) engineering team for PSEG Hudson Generation Station in Jersey City, New Jersey for upgrading the station. Objective to reduce Nox, So2, Particulate matter (PM) and Mercury emissions. This will be accomplished by addition and installation of certain new systems like SCR, PAC, SDA, FGD and Pulse Jet Fabric Filter systems. Responsibilities include the review of design/ drawings, specifications and schedule as this is a running plant and most of the work is to be performed in non-outage, only the tie-in and critical installations in outage.

Also review schedule and monitor the demolitions of critical items like old Fuel oil line, Ammonia storage and Urea storage tanks, monitor the construction, especially the Micro pile driving activity. Help in getting the permits for construction, from NJ Meadowlands Commission and Jersey City MUA.

08/2006 – 08/2007. PEC, Toronto, Canada; Site Civil / Structural Engineer:

Join Portlands Energy Centre, a joint venture of Trans Canada and Ontario Power Generation for their new Combined Cycle natural Gas run Power plant of total capacity of 550 MW, in Toronto, Canada. There were 2 GE 7Fa gas turbines and Generators, and one Alstom’s steam Turbine. This was an EPC contract; the main contractor was SNC Lavalin.

Responsibilities include the engineering and construction activities, reviewing the civil and structural drawings and specification. Also review the contractor’s shop drawing for forms and scaffolding. Monitor day to day construction activities, according to the schedule and concrete and steel structure. Review the RFI’s, change orders, QA/QC and construction manuals. Monitor and inspect the pile driving activities and all phases of construction.

4/2006 – 7/2006, GE International, Doha; Qatar. Lead Civil Engineer:

Join GE for their Simple Cycle Power project in Doha, Qatar. This is a joint venture with an Italian company Fisia, GE is responsible for the Power Island, Installation of 3 Gas turbines, Generators and their accessories. Responsibilities include the engineering and construction activities. As well as plan the construction activities for six weeks ahead. Responsible for all the equipment foundations and all under ground utilities, include the Fire, Storm and Oily water lines, as well as Electrical Duct bank and 220 KV cable trench. Prepare the constructability sequence for the contractor. Plan the construction of all the Foundations and buildings. Coordinate to the customer engineer for the inspection of all construction activities. Review the construction drawings and raise RFI for any missing information. Review and monitor the dewatering, as the site is very close to the Arabian Sea, and some of the foundations are below water level.

12/2003 – 3/2006, CCMCI; Project Engineer (Civil):

Join Calpine Construction and Management Company Incorporate, California based company, for their Combined Cycle Power Plant (2 x 1) at Appleton, WI. Responsibilities include the engineering and construction activities. As well as prepare and evaluate the bid packages for award of contract to the contractors, prepare the foundation packages for

HRSG, Turbines and all related foundations, and the Structural Steel, for Main Utility

Bridge, other Miscellaneous Steel and For the Paint and touch up Bid package for Pipes and Equipments as well as Pre-Engineering Building package for the administration building, Auxiliary Building, Fire Protection building etc. Check the Shop drawings for Rebar and Structural Steel. Issue any change notices, Response all civil and structural related Request for Information (RFI), Issue Field Work Directive, Contact the consultant and contractors for any arbitration. Contact the Engineering Company for drawing to deliver in time and drawing design discrepancies, if any.

After successful completion of the project moved to new project in Courtright, Ontario, Canada, a 3 x 1 combined cycle Power Plant. Responsibilities are as mentioned above, in addition to the QA/ QC for the time being, and managing the document control also.

05/2003 - 10/2003, General Electric; GEER; Construction Manager:

Join GEER at North Bergen, NJ, for the construction and installation of three servicing and washing facilities at Medford, MA, Philadelphia, PA and North Bergen. NJ. That is the closed water system, Pressure washer. The responsibility include, meeting with the architectures, construction contractors, checking the design and drawings, as well the actual construction and the bidding for the allotment of the job. Duties include the scheduling and expense spreadsheet. That is pre-fabricated structure. The building consists of the wash bay area, an inside office for technicians, installation of the Thermo Oxidizer, a system that cleans water for re-use and finally evaporate the water, burn the ingredients of grease and oil/water, leaving the ash as residue. Connecting all the utilities, as well as the sprinkler system, heating system and all other appliances and equipment needed for the wash bay area.

10/00 - 02/2003, General Electric Power System; Lead Material Expeditor:

Join the Equipment team of Power System. For the management and timely delivery of the turbine parts and MSD items for different projects all over United States. Responsible for proper and on time delivery of all the related equipments to the site, serve as the focal point for questions regarding GE shipping documents. Manage and coordinate to expedite the delivery of the power plant equipments, with the site and the vendors and the GE routing center. Assists site for the proper handling of the equipments. Not only the inventory of the equipments but also look after, if the right equipment is delivered as per the customers order and need. Examine MSD for any potential damage upon arrival, also assisting with the process for Repairs/replacement if necessary. Help the customer in identifying the instruments and proper location of the equipment before the installation.

04/00 - 8/00, Panda Energy Inc. Katmandu Nepal, Senior Civil Engineer:

Join this joint venture of Harza Engineering and Panda Energy Inc USA, for the construction of a 45 MW Hydo Power plant in the northern region of Nepal. There was 3.5-km long tunnel, a Powerhouse containing two Hydro Turbines the control rooms and the headwork. Responsible for all the civil work for 3.5-km long tunnel, Head works, Powerhouse and the control rooms. Responsibilities include checking the reinforcement, the shot creeting and the reinforced crown inside tunnel at the weaker section of the tunnel, and proper construction by the Chinese contractors and helping them in finishing the construction as per schedule, and as per specification and the code.

02/00 - 4/00, S & S Energy Products, Houston, USA. Material-Coordinator.

Join this GE facility as the Material Coordinator. The duties includes, analyzing the present system of shipping and handling the Turbine units and the Balance of Plant equipment. To avoid any missing or wrong shipping at the job site. Also to develop a right and effective procedure for the facility to avoid any errors in the shipping, which ultimately avoid the reshipping and control the cost? It was noticed that the shipment was going without coordination of different sections.

08/98 - 12/1999, General Electric, KSA, Deputy Engineering Manager & Lead Civil Engr.

Worked as Deputy engineering manager as well; Lead civil engineer for the 1200MW-combine cycle system. Responsible for the engineering aspects of the power plant, and the Fuel Oil Pipeline. Coordinate between the client and the sub-contractors. Responsible for checking the FCN/DCN’S review the structural drawings and civil drawings with respect to contract documents before forwarding to the client for approval (including turbine halls control rooms, main control building, storm water drainage system, final grading, roads and the general arrangement drawings etc.). Attending, different meetings and walk down with the client, and the Consultants. Respond the technical correspondence from clients and consultants. Attend the meeting to resolve the disputed items. Arrange the meeting with the vendors. Involve for the engineering as well construction of 17 Km Crude oil Pipeline. Monitor the construction on the hot tap area as well in the Metering skid and tie in area. Attend the meeting with SECECO and ARAMCO related to the Crude Oil Pipeline.
