Dear Sir/Madam:

I am inquiring about an internship with Skagit Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services in my senior year at Western Washington University. I admire what this organization does for the women of our community and I want to become a part of it. Human rights as well as women’s rights are very important to me.

Skagit Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services could be a good match for me because there are countless ways in which to help. I am increasingly compassionate and empathetic for those without a voice. I was raised in poverty by a single mother and recognize a woman’s strength though I think it could be much easier with advocacy. I stay updated on human/women’s rights issues and can bring experience along with social skills to your organization.

At your convenience, I would like to discuss the possible opportunity of an internship at Skagit Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services. I am eager to get started and hoping for a spring quarter internship.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely yours,

Germaine Jean Kornegay
