* Research and develop novel immunoisolation strategies such as encapsulating pancreatic islets in durable bio-compatible micro-size beads via endotoxin free sodium alginate using a state of the art electrostatic bead generator

* Evaluate viability of islet graft, pre-transplantation, and after explanation from mice and non-human primates, using LIVE/DEAD(R) Viability/Cytotoxicity reagents
