Selected Accomplishments

Developed and implemented a certified testing program for a computerized nuclear power plant training simulator by using existing staff personnel rather than contract services. This resulted in a savings of over $200,000 compared to other utilities which outside-contracted for this service. Received a Notable Achievement Award for this work and was invited to give a paper at the Simulation Computer Society Annual Conference.

Wrote technical design specifications and evaluated bid proposals for the procurement of a plantspecific operator training simulator in three months less time than originally scheduled.

Coordinated the development of a major computerized maintenance information management system including preventive maintenance and work order scheduling, spare parts inventory control, equipment history and failure trending. Portions of this modular system were subsequently installed at all company thermal power stations.

Supervised the operation and maintenance of a nuclear power plant training simulator, including identification and elimination of deficiencies, installation of design modifications, and verifying the fidelity against actual plant data. This simulator has been praised by government inspectors as one of the best in the nation. My department has consistently exceeded its productivity goals while remaining within approved budgets.

Converted over 50 computer applications for various other users from IBM VSPC and BASIC to VM/CMS Rexx language following a corporate mainframe computer system upgrade.

Taught numerous computer courses and provided individualized user instruction on applications including Word Perfect, Harvard Graphics, TimeLine, Lotus 123, HTML, PHP, SAS, VM/CMS, Xedit, Rexx, PROFS (E-Mail), JCL, and PC-Mainframe file transfers.

Provided both hardware and software HelpLine technical support to users company-wide for PC, IBM mainframe, and Honeywell computer systems and their associated applications.

Installed and provided System Administration and Security for both Novell and UNIX local area networks, including IBM token ring and Ethernet installations.

Developed procedures and conducted testing for a inorganic analytical chemistry laboratory.

Developed and implemented the initial ASME welder qualification program for the Trojan Nuclear Power Plant.

Developed an expert computer system to analyze and generate the hundreds of individual check-offs required to refuel a nuclear reactor core which resulted in the savings of over 50 engineering hours annually and the elimination of all typographical errors.
