Additional Information:
I have over 35 years experience working with public schools, 16 as a classroom teacher, 11 as an administrator (Vice Principal, Dean of Studies, Principal, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction) in five different districts and for the past eight years I have worked as an educational consultant conducting school quality reviews, providing leadership coaching, and facilitating school improvement initiatives in six different states. Since 2007 I have worked with 12 different charter schools in Michigan to facilitate their transitions from targeted to schoolwide Title I programs.
As a building level administrator, I was directly responsible for the planning for and the implementation of major school restructuring initiatives (a transition to the block schedule in one and the development of small learning communities in the other.) While working as an educational consultant I have facilitated schoolwide planning and the implementation of school improvement initiatives for a number of schools in several states. As a building administrator I was also directly responsible for the implementation of all federal programs in my building including the Title I program. As an assistant superintendent, I was directly responsible for the district-wide oversight of all federal programs in all of our schools.
