HIGHLIGHTED ACHIEVEMENTS
Employer Counseling: Worked extensively with Vice President for Human Resources, Vice Provost for
Faculty and Deans to develop and implement performance development plans for faculty, resulting in
improved productivity in some incidents and a decision by the faculty member to leave the University in
others, without litigation. Also counseled HR on how to evaluate and implement disability
accommodation requests, management of FMLA intermittent absences and last change agreements for
employees with alcohol and/or substance abuse issues.
Management & Staff Training: Trained management to understand employment laws and educated
employees regarding company work rules, including anti-harassment policies. Served as an adviser and
guide to all staff to ensure corporate ethics was maintained. Drafted and implemented employee manuals
focused on a company s specific workforce. Developed an internal process for evaluating and
implementing accommodation requests by disabled employees.
Legal Claims & Defense: Developed Temple University s first faculty salary study, which was ultimately
used to successfully defend the University in a contentious equal pay act claim.
Arbitration & Mediation: Successfully resolved grievances and labor arbitrations before administrative
agencies, including the EEOC, PHRC, and the Pennsylvania Public Employee Relations Committee.
