Treat all inmates within professional capabilities. Assist the physician with sick call and minor surgical procedures. Ensure that physician`s orders are implemented. Chart using S.O.A.P. Document on all inmate contact. Maintain confidentiality of medical records. Make rounds on observation patients, and records on progress notes. Evaluate and chart on symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients on periodic basis. Perform lifesaving emergency actions, Heimlich, CPR, and AED, applying pressure to wounds to control bleeding. Help to maintain and teach optimal health status such as ADSL`s, self-examinations and dressing changes. Ensure that medications are prescribed and administered as ordered. Maintain security while dispensing medications, being continually cognizant of the potential hazard of drug hoarding and trafficking among inmates. Perform glucose test, give insulin, perform blood draws, urine and other laboratory test, Destroy and properly dispose of all needles/syringes. Work with residents and help to maintain and teach optimal health status such as ADSL`s, self-examinations and dressing changes, . Perform daily treatments and wound care and immunizations as needed.
