SCODP-FIPS
developed two new
fertilizers
Organized
the manufacturing of
the Kel-Green fertilizer by the private
sector and its
introduction into the market.
Developed
strong Partnership
with Private sector (Monsanto, Bayer, Pannar, Syngenta, Pioneer,
Griffaton,
Regina Seeds, East African Seed and Farm-Chem)
in
developing of mini-pack packing of farm inputs and dissemination of new
technologies to small holder farmer.
SCOP-FIPS
developed the
partnership with Maize seed companies to pack Maize seed in Kenya
in small Packs of 100g to 1 Kg for the first time in Kenya
(Monsanto CG4141, Pannar PAN 67 Western Seed Company WH
904).
Involved
in developing the
tender bid document for a consortium with ACDI-VOCA as the lead agency
to bid
for USAID tender on Maize Sector Development Project In
Kenya which the consortium won.

Institute of EgertonUniversity,
1992 - 1993, 1999 - 2001.Together with
Gem Argwins-Kodhek and Karin F.Z did a review of The Dairy
Sector Situation in Kenya, for a
consortium of seven organizations in Kenya involved in the
industry.Participated in
a study on Domestic horticulture situation in Kenya .Compiled a
database for Tegemeo Institute on all major agricultural commodities. This data will
form a base for any commodity studies done by the institute. The
information will also be used to develop a website for the organization.Participated In
study on Maize Cross Border Trade between Kenya and Uganda
to compare the costs of production in Kenya and Uganda, to identify
the comparative advantage and the impediments to maize trade.In collaboration
with two colleagues evaluated SCODP, a non-governmental organization
based in western Kenya involved in
dissemination of new technologies and new inputs. Performed financial
analysis and organization performance and recommended a course of
action for future restructuring and expansion.Participated in
a Fertilizer Marketing Cost study in Kenya a collaborative
study with MSU and Tegemeo Institute (EgertonUniversity). Collected
data using a questionnaire and in-depth interview of major players in
the fertilizer supply chain and Government officials. Analyzed the data
and co-authored a seminar paper.Participated in
a study on Maize meal Consumption in Kenya
before liberalization .Participated in
a study on Dairy situation in Kenya
before liberalization .
