experience was in leading all stages of product development with interests in medical sensing, defense communications and

I am an expert with years of proven success in a number of technologies such as GPS, Wireless Communications (Tactical radio,

Professional radio, Cellular Data, Bluetooth and ISM radio), Internet based systems, PC software, Mobile Phone Software and

Embedded systems (ARM, Intel, Microcontroller) and Medical Devices.

I demonstrate highly commendable business acumen in Program management to develop and transfer consumer technology

platforms from the consumer market to the defense space, working with multi discipline teams to ensure all requirements are met

with efficient engineering practices using COTS and military technology. As principal investigator on defense contracts (BAA) I

led the technology transfer from prototypes to procurement for defense customers in multiple areas of the armed services.

I can demonstrate exemplary skills in selecting, auditing and negotiating with manufacturing and technology partners in Asia,

Europe and USA. I championed successful cost reduction strategies by outsourcing and leveraging overseas manufacturing

partners. This directly provided improved quality, lead time, risk and profitability by cutting cost of manufactured product in half.

Zephyr Technology is a world leader in developing and manufacturing remote physiological monitoring systems. Zephyr s

technology is used in Professional Sports, Military, First Responder and mHealth markets.

Management Member of the Zephyr Executive team, providing technical leadership and direction for the company.

Established and managed three development centers based in USA, New Zealand and India

Principal Investigator and technical lead on a number of DOD programs to transition Zephyrs commercial remote vital

sign monitor technology for US Special Forces and US Army, this involved integrating Zephyrs technology with other DOD

supplied communications systems such as Android mobile, NETT Warrior, Thales MBITR/JEM, Harris PRC152, Trellisware

TW220 and Motorola PRC 153 communications platforms. After leading these successful development programs I led

the technology transfer to successful procurement programs for US Special Forces

Leveraged my expert domain knowledge in radio data communications (Conventional Data, Trunked data, P25 and

Tactical waveforms) to develop Radio Interface devices to enable wireless sensor integration to COTS radio platforms

Transitioned Zephyrs PC based physiological monitoring platform to a cloud based internet solution supporting cellular

platforms (Android, IOS, Blackberry, Symbian) and distributed internet HIPPA compliant server platform.

Led Zephyr s manufacturing strategy to establish manufacturing operations from New Zealand to USA (low volume) and

China (high volume), this transition achieved major cost savings and improved product quality.

Fusion electronics is a leading marine and car audio manufacturer, primarily for the consumer market.

Created and Implemented Fusions first generation True Marine Entertainment product line, designed in- house and

manufactured in China

Established stage and gate development process and integrated with company s quality systems and processes for

Navman is a leader in Marine, GPS, Navigation and Wireless Vehicle tracking markets. Main products were personal navigation

devices, GPS Modules and Marine electronics (Chart plotters, Fish finders etc).

Created a world leading research and development team growing the development and research team from 1

engineer to a team of 80 engineers and researchers. This development team assisted in Navman s high growth from 20

staff to over 600 staff and revenues in excess of $500 million US.

Technical account leader for Navman s Tier 1 customers in navigation, GPS and wireless products and programs; Key

programs were Qualcomm (OmniTRACS), Grundig (German Road Toll Program), Timex (GPS fitness products), Visteon

(GPS Engine for Ford Navigator), Lucent (Timing GPS for USA CDMA network).

Managed the technical acquisition and transition of the Conexant GPS business from USA to Navman; Manufacturing

and all Conexant accounts were transitioned in six months with improvements in manufacturing processes and

automation of GPS module and accessory manufacturing.

Developed Navman s Positioning, Wireless and Hardware Platform Strategy. This involved leading a Core Technology

Research team and working with Navman s regional managers and technology providers to deliver innovative and

compelling products to retain Navman s position as a world leader in GPS products and services.

Brought to market the world s first integrated GPRS vehicle tracking product (OnlieAVL) with the development of GPS

cellular tracking hardware, mobile data terminal and internet based vehicle tracking components. This product is

currently a world leading vehicle tracking solution and has been deployed in 13 countries.
