I worked within the Fluor Government Group to assist in developing PCDMS, a system designed to track and manage various government contracts. The primary goal of developing PCDMS was to replace the existing proprietary Proliance system currently in place. PCDMS was written in C# using ASP.NET with various .NET 4.0 technologies supporting it. It relied upon a SQL Server 2008 R2 backend for it's data storage. PCDMS was also written and implemented with special consideration being given to remote users accessing it through low bandwidth and high latency connections, such as those in Afghanistan.

Primary responsibilities included development of the Benefitfocus AppBuilder platform upon which a number of their front facing client applications are built including HRInTouch. Specific development tasks included the creation and inclusion of extensive client side AJAX functionality, work with REST web services, expansion of its data storage and management capabilities, extending the multilingual capabilities of the platform and working to bring the platform to a state where it can be accessed and used by third party developers to create their own applications.

Upon returning to work for Gower/Jobscope I picked up some of my older Visual Studio 2003 projects and resumed work on them. In addition to that I have begun working on brand new ASP.NET development using Visual Studio 2008, LINQ, SQL Server 2008 and C#. The new development revolves around a stateful web application that uses various AJAX techniques to overcome some of the traditional hurdles present within web application development. This stateful web application automates a number of paper processes within various Gower children companies. In addition to that, I assisted in the management of servers running Windows 2003, Windows 2008, SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2008, Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007. I also shared responsibility for ensuring the stable and secure operation of the companies network / firewall.

At AMECO, a wholly owned Fluor Daniel subsidiary, my primary responsibility was to recreate portions of the custom internal ERP system as web applications. This internal ERP system is running on a multi-valued database called D3 and hosted on Linux/AIX . The web applications I created made heavy use of AJAX, ASP.NET 2.0, SQL Server 2005, custom XML schemas and a third party library called MV.NET that allowed us to interact with the multi-valued database. In addition I wrote a .NET service designed to facilitate the automatic conversion of PCL printer jobs from the ERP system into PDF files, wrote an ASP.NET document storage and retrieval system, assisted in the development of shell scripts, maintained the source to an ASP-based tool tracking system purchased from a 3rd party and performed ongoing administration of the internal AIX/Linux/Windows servers hosting these applications.

During my time at Jobscope I was responsible for the development and design of several customized applications. Most of my of the applications were either ASP.NET web applications or winform .NET applications written for a three tiered architecture. Typically the front end code was written in VB.NET and back end libraries were constructed using serialized classes developed in C#. All of the projects made heavy use of SQL Server 2000 and various related pieces of functionality such as views, stored procedures and triggers as a result. I also worked on other projects at Jobscope involving Navision customization, SQL Server Analysis Services and ASP.NET Web Services. In addition I assisted with administration of the Jobscope and client networks. This involved work with Windows 2000 & 2003, ISA 2004, Active Directory, DNS, Exchange 2000 & 2003, IIS 5.0 & 5.1 & 6.0, SQL Server 2000 and Brightstor Arcserve 11.

While working with GE during this period of time I was primarily responsible for the development of three applications. LDM was an ASP/VbScript web application that assisted the engineers in generating, storing and processing life estimates for a number of failure prone parts in the Gas Turbine fleet. I was also responsible for the development of the backend SQL Server database in which the data for LDM was stored. This application was in the process of being transitioned onto a .NET platform when my contract with GE ended. ERFLM was a Visual Basic application dedicated to estimating when specific real world parts would fail and needed to be serviced based upon previous life estimates and current data collected on those parts. DRS is a ASP/VBScript web application that automated a paper process. DRS included a very intricate system for handing out privileges within the system and allowed for complex email notifications to be delivered as each step of the process became approved/completed. There were a number of smaller applications including several database utilities written in C#, a large number of routine VBScripts. In addition I also was responsible for assisting in the administering of the department Windows 2000 IIS and SQL Server.

I administered and maintained a network of nearly 100 client machines, 4 Windows NT 4 Servers, and 1 Novell Netware 3.2 Server in the fast paced, pressure oriented environment of an international UPS Call Center. I gained extensive experience with Call Center oriented products such as TCS, RTA, and CMS (Lucent Switch Software). I also single handedly designed and developed the Teletech Greenville Intranet site using ASP/VBScript.

I worked on converting large amounts of billing, diagnosis, and lab data between different hospital system management platforms. I also worked on redesigning our cutting edge engine conversion engine which allowed us to access flatfiles through an ADO like interface. I worked extensively with Meditech, SOMMED, Dairyland, and SAINT medical systems. The majority of my work was completed using Visual Basic, Microsoft Office, and SQL Server.
