OBJECTIVE

I am a wife of 25 years, mother to 22 and 24 year old sons, and am currently employed as an RN at Fair Oaks Lodge in Wadena. I have been employed there since 11/24/1997 with the exception of nearly one year when I transferred to Tri County Hospital during my youngest sons senior year of high school to spend more time with him. However, I found myself missing the long term relationships I had with my former residents and their families. I transitioned back to Fair Oaks Lodge once Kevin left for college.

While Ive been at Fair Oaks Lodge (formerly Shady Lane nsg home) I worked as a noc supervisor, pm supervisor, resident care manager on all three floors. I also taught CPR, a trained medication aide course, and developed the newest pscychotropic policy for FOL. However, I recently found out that my pm supervisor position was eliminated due to budget cuts and new management.

I also worked in home health care for 6 months for Caring Hands in Sebeka, and worked at the Extension Office in Wadena doing nutrition education for those with limited resources for 3 1/2 years. I was employed as an OB nurse at North Country Hospital in Bemidji for 5 years prior to marrying my husband and moving to Wadena. I worked at Tri County Hospital in Wadena from 1/1988 - 6/1992, when I had to take an extended leave of absence from work to take care of my very ill child, who nearly died, after a lengthy hospitalization of 4 months followed by several months of various therapies and further surgeries.

I have been active in church, community and am very open to starting a new career, whether it be in nursing or a new area. I am responsible and reliable, I enjoy working with people, I'm flexible, and have been known as a very dedicated and hard worker. People know that they can trust me with their confidences, and Ive been known to be a relationships person. I have a calming affect and my fellow staff members appreciate that. I have also been called in to share time with residents, family members who are more difficult to deal with to help make their concerns heard and give them the peace of mind that things will be taken care of as best we can.

I am open to any additional training as needed.

Thank you for your time.

I worked as an RN on both the medical and surgical wings of the floor. When I was hired, it was with the opportunity to spend more time with my youngest son during his senior year of high school and the possibility of working in the OB dept again. . I was able to enhance my acute care skills and nsg observations. I worked all three shifts including both 8 and 12 hours while employed there. I transitioned back to Fair Oaks Lodge after realizing that my heart was still there and had never actually left.

RN - Resident care manager

I started out working as a part time RN on the night shift. I did supervising and floor work. I also began doing evening supervising and floor duty, and then began as an RN at the connected assisted living facility. I was then asked to sub for the resident care managers who were on leave. Approximately 6 years ago, I became a resident care manager. I worked on MDS', care plans, supervised my staff on the floor, worked floor duty on the weekends. I was also involved in Medicare, other skilled services and MA, including billing and determination of those with skilled needs. I was the first person to initiate putting care plans into the computer. I also didblood draws and IV starts and worked with doctors during rounds and as needed communication involving change in status of my residents. I was very involved with the families of my residents as well. I truly enjoyed my position there, but leftbecause of an opportunity to go back to my first love in nursing, which was OB/ L D, and to spend more time with my youngest son during his senior year of high school. As an RCM, we were also involved with QA and QI, and heavily into the survey process. I was
