Objective: To obtain a position that will enable me to use my strong organizational skills, team-oriented leadership style, extensive fundraising experience, strategic planning strategist, and ability to work well with others. Newly retired after thirty-five years of teaching and coaching, I would like to share my talents, expertise and twenty years of non-profit volunteerism experience in the non-profit arena.

Community Experience

The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc.: 2011-2013 serve on the Governance Committee as an At-Large Representative. AJLI is comprised of more than 155,000 women in 293 Junior Leagues.

The Junior League of Cleveland, Inc.: 1992-2012, President 2001-2003, Board of Trustees 2012-2014, 1996-2003 Major accomplishments CEO non-profit with 900 members, JLC Leadership Institute coordinated training vehicle for over 500 members and community, Poinsettia Place Corporate Chair, US National Figure Skating Coordinator, Northeast Ohio Race for the Cure Co-chaired second annual 1994 Race for the Cure where $200,000 was raised for breast education, screening and treatment for medically underserved women,

University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center: Chairwoman of The American Girl Fashion Show, 1996-2012, Chair annual event that has raised over $500,000 for childrens cancer research and entertained over 22,000 children and adults.

Northern Ohio Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society: President of Board of Trustees, 2010-2012, Board of Trustees, 2001-2012, Executive Committee, 2004-2012, 2010 Man and Woman of Year Event Chair raising over $150,000 and in three years growing the campaign to $325,000. Served on the Steering Committee of the Light the Night Walk, Service to Mankind Gala, Crocker Park Grand Opening Event, Leukemia Cup Regatta, Patient Services and Womens Advisory Board.

Childrens Hunger Alliance: Northeast Ohio Board of Directors, 2004-2012, Shop to Stop Hunger Event Committee, 2008-2010, raising $15,000 a year. Chaired the Family Festival from 2010-2012 and instrumental in securing a $2,500 grant from the Junior League of Cleveland in 2012 to underwrite the event.

Cornerstone of Hope, A Home for Grieving: Board of Directors, 2007-2012, Secretary, Executive Committee, 2008-2012, provided leadership for the newly formed Youth Group.

Women in Touch with Akrons Needs: Board of Directors, 2008-2012, Ways and Means Co-chair for the French Market the organizations major fundraising event to support its Grants Program.

American Heart Association Greater Cleveland: 2012-2013 Heart and Stroke Ball Executive Leadership Committee serving as Auction Chair with a goal of raising $70,000. Go Red Campaign Passion Committee, 2007-2012.

Adult Guardianship Services: A Program of Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry, 2012 trained volunteer serving as legal guardian of an indigent, incompetent adult in Cuyahoga County.

Miami University: 2012 35-Year Reunion Chair, committee member in 2002 and 2006. Establishing the endowed Judith E. Matsko Scholarship Fund as a retirement gift to the university and utilized my Retirement Celebration event to grow the fund by raising $15,000.

Neighborhood Centers Association of Greater Cleveland: Chairperson, 2008-2009, first annual fundraiser, Six Degrees of Separation, Neighborhood Style raising over $100,000 for programming for the sixteen Neighborhood Centers of Greater Cleveland. 2009-2010 Six Degrees of Separation, Neighborhood Style Committee.

The Alzheimers Association Cleveland Area Chapter: Board of Directors, 2005-2007, Executive Committee, 2006-2007, Development Chair, Chairwoman of 2006 Celebration of Hope Annual Dinner raising over $250,000, 2005-2010 Steering Committee of The Memory Walk, the 25th Anniversary Gala and Celebration of Hope Dinners.

The Gathering Place: Community Board, 1998-2001, Special Events Coordinator, 1999-2000, Co-Chaired first annual fund-raiser Discover the Child Within raising over $70,000.

Northeast Ohio Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation: Board of Directors, 1995-1998.

Professional Experience

Health and Physical Education Teacher, Volleyball Coach, Track and Field Coach, Albion Middle School, Strongsville City Schools, 1980-2012.

Coaching record in volleyball stands at 305 wins and 170 losses.

Coaching record in track and field stands at 161 wins, 73 losses and 2 ties.

In 2001, received a $15,000 grant from the Southwest Community Health Foundation for the purchasing of the Health First Wellness Technology Program which empowers students to take charge of their personal wellness.

In 2002, received a $5000 grant from the Strongsville Education Foundation for the purchasing of hand-held devices to compliment the Health First Wellness Technology Program.

Students participate in fundraising endeavors (i.e. Light the Night Walk, Jump Rope for Heart, Hoops for Heart, and Bargain Box Toy Sale.) In 2010, students raised over $3300 for the American Heart Association.

DARE Day Coordinator, 2003-2012.

Team Leader, 2004-2011- served as a collaborative facilitator and as a liaison between the team and staff.

Washington, D.C. Coordinator, 2008-2010.

Coordinated the 2008-2012 NFL Play 60 Program in collaboration with the Cleveland Browns and the American Heart Association. Albion was selected to be the 2009-2010 Kick-off School with an assembly with Cleveland Browns player Joshua Cribbs. Albion students placed first in Greater Cleveland with the highest number of minutes logged. Two students placed first and second in Greater Cleveland. As a result of involvement, Albion received nearly $20,000 in weight equipment from the Cleveland Browns. In Spring 2012, Albion students recorded the highest number of minutes logged and were rewarded with a Field Day at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Coordinated the 2009-2010 Fuel Up to Play 60 Program with the Cleveland Browns and the American Dairy Association. This program included the awarding of a $5000 grant for usage of promoting healthy eating and physical activity and was a student-driven endeavor. The students received a motivational assembly with Cleveland Browns player Michael Furrey in collaboration with the Cleveland Browns, the American Dairy Association and the Childrens Hunger Alliance.

Coordinated the 2008-2012 Cleveland Cavaliers Fit as a Pro Program. In 2012, Albion was the top school and was rewarded with an assembly performance by the Cleveland Cavaliers Dream Team.

The Voluntary Professional Growth Program of the Strongsville City Schools encourages teachers to advance in professional growth, awarded the Voluntary Professional Growth five times
