OBJECTIVE:
In these times of rapid changes in healthcare, it is reassuring to know that there are people who are educated, skilled, dependable and caring. I believe that I am one of those people. I love nursing and have chosen to stay at the bedside as primary caregiver and as a resource and /or assistant to other staff and team mates. I believe that a RN should be able to function independently and as a team member. I have worked in many different RN positions and it was all within the Emergency Nursing field. I love learning and trying different roles as long as excellent patient care is the standard and ultimate goal. I would like the opportunity to offer my services to your organization and I appreciate your consideration.

SKILLS:
I have many years experience with people of all ages and in almost all types of illnesses and injuries. I have become very skilled at multiple procedures and am able to learn new procedures very quickly. I am skilled at IV starts and blood draws in children to adults, also able to calculate dosages and provide medications to all ages and physical abilities. Patient safety is a very high priority with medications as well as in performing other procedures and in all care to the patient. Some of these procedures include foley catheter placement - indwelling and straight cath, and placement of NG or OG tubes. I have skills in the more advanced procedures such as accessing central ports, working with arterial lines, CVP lines and the intubated patient. I have nursed the sedated patient through the procedure and recovery and assisted the physician as needed. I am able to maintain sterile technique and assisted in sterile procedures. I have also been trained in orthopedic injuries, care and splinting, crutch and walker instruction. I consider the family and friends of the patient to be part of the team that supports and cares for the patient.
