Accomplishments: Managed the implementation of a world wide proprietary system (CEDEX) for marine equipment control and maintenance. Accomplishments: Assisted in the concept, design, and beta testing of a proprietary program. This system was in turn utilized by international shipping and leasing companies to manage repair costs for intermodal equipment; primarily chassis, generators, dry and refrigerated containers. Re-organized and redistributed the container inspection workforce to more efficiently manage world wide inspection to provide better quality service to the customer base which also resulted in a $200,000/month reduction in employee travel expenses. Drafted and implemented in-service and off-hire procedures for refrigerated containers and motor generators, increasing overall inspection service revenues by 25%.

Director of Operations and Technical Services (1983-1990)

PLM International, San Francisco, CA

Accomplishments: Managed the process of recovering a fleet of 1200 specialized refrigerated containers worth approx. $38,000,000 from around the world, which entailed locating them in service, and repositioning them to various US port and inland locations. Also managed the liquidation process for the banks and investors. Made a newly created shipping line (NVO) functional in less than 60 days, with minimally operating equipment and no personnel or organization in place. The requirements included vessel leasing, equipment procurement, training of transport refrigeration mechanics (dock and vessel), and systems implementation. Provided the same services, less vessel procurement, for 2 established shipping lines (US Lines and Top Gallant) and 2 barge operators (Sea-Barge and American Caribe Lines). Designed and implemented on-hire/off hire forms, bridging the container equipment operations into the over-the-road trailer operations. This resulted in major off hire costs savings. Also by instituting significant repair before return policies, the off hire process was significantly streamlined for equipment owners.
