Miss Porter s School Dance Workshop, Farmington, CT (2005-2009)

This course is designed for the dedicated and experienced dancer who would like to continue or expand her study
of modern dance, jazz, and ballet as well as explore experiences in other dance styles, including, but not limited to,
hip hop, Capoeira, improvisation, African dance, and Pilates body conditioning. This class will allow students to
acquire both aesthetic and academic knowledge of dance and increase the integration of alignment, movement
skills, and spatial clarity. Students will study and present choreography, learn repertory from local dance
companies, and attend and critique dance performances in the area. Requirements include two hours of class five
days per week, outside choreography assignments, and three to four performances per school year. Once accepted,
dancers must participate in dance workshop for at least two out of three sports seasons.
