Recent Experience: Northrop Grumman

For Integrated Maintenance Data Systems (IMDS), created and reviewed subsystem documentation, compared it with DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) controls and validation procedures, and submitted findings via Enterprise Information Technology Data Repository (EITDR).

Configured security features, audited logs, and handled Time Compliance Technical Orders for Unix and Windows servers. Wrote System Security Authorization Agreement (SSAA) under Department of Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Process (DITSCAP) for a system that spanned Unix input and processing and Windows web and database servers. Repeated the assignment for that system on the next cycle using DIACAP.

For Web Invoicing System (WInS) and Kids1st (garnishments), troubleshot problems, provided explanation of solutions and replacement code, wrote system documentation, and installed application changes. Responded to vendor phone questions regarding Web site access and invoice entry for six payment systems for which WInS is the Web and batch front end. Created trouble resolution and trouble ticket system: symptoms suggest fixes, and actions taken post to a ticket. Developed, documented, and distributed ftp script for unattended file transfer. Published ColdFusion demonstrations. Administered and replaced Solaris and Windows platforms. Moved MS SQL databases between instances.

Created modular gateway management software (GEM) that provided user-configurable routing, formatting, translation, transmission, and archiving for Finance (Denver DFAS' payments and HQ DFAS' Web invoicing), Contracting (MADES), and Transportation (CMOS) customers. It worked via a distributed architecture that permitted multiple machines to share data across a Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks (RAID).

Proposed changes to EDI Standards and DoD Implementation Conventions. Worked with commercial firms to improve their use of EDI. Analyzed capabilities of general-purpose EDI translators and provided voluminous feedback proposing corrections and enhancements to GENTRAN Mentor. Maintained EDI translation maps and trading partner records. Supported the GCSS-AF Requirements Integration Directorate (GRID).

Designed and produced custom interfaces. Interfaced a database for Acquisition training (TRAMS) with legacy Training and Personnel systems by creating software that emulated a human operator so that no changes to the legacy software were needed to update those systems. Tailored a Telnet interface from Contracting Officers using WANG and PC platforms to a mirror of Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Configured the U. S. Air Force Electronic Commerce Gateway to automatically send data via ftp and E-mail. Supported Web invoicing with front-end code and back-end processes. Identified erroneous transactions and provided help desk support to all customers. Analyzed systems and business practices in Combat Ammunition System (CAS-A, CAS-C) and Electronic Procurement System (EPS) for projected support.

Shared the following honors: 2001 commendation from the Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS) director for DoD Garnishment Operations on behalf of the Federal Office of Child Support; 2001 commendation from The Air Force Chief Information Officer (AF/CIO) for work on the Munitions Data Capture System (MDCS); 2000 Center of Excellence for Information Technology Award; 1999 Chief Information Officer Council Award; 1999 AFEI Technical Excellence Award; 1999 E-Gov Pioneer Award; 1999 DoD Value Engineering Quality Award; 1999 DoD Best EC Web Site Award; 1999 DoD Large Business EC Team Award.

In 7217th Air Base group in Europe, supported North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) deployments in Turkey, largely through rental and purchase of equipment and services. In Military Airlift Command s (MAC) Airlift Information Systems Division, integrated future requirements with current systems and created management software; also found time to volunteer as a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) certified canning inspector and cannery operator for Storehouse Resource System, supervising volunteers in the production of foodstuffs for the needy. In the 1500th Computer Services Squadron (MAC), monitored airlift automation requirements, administered and programmed a multi-terminal computer system, and fed the Program Objective Memorandum process. While assigned by Air Force Logistics Command (AFLC) to the Ballistic Missile Office, performed life-cycle planning for strategic weapon basing with emphasis on software issues and reviewed contractor proposals. In the 63rd Military Airlift Wing (MAC), controlled the process of deploying equipment and personnel, managed intra-and inter-service support agreements, and monitored war materiel storage.

U. S. Air Force Non-Commissioned Officer
