After graduating from Respiratory school, I continued in my current position as a Respiratory Assistant, but kept active in the respiratory therapy field to maintain my skills. During my clinical experience I administered physicians-prescribed treatments, of routine nature, which included, but was not limited to:

Suctioning

Nebulizer treatments

Performed chest physical therapy treatments which involved percussion, postural drainage and/or suctioning

Performed airway management to include trach tube changes

Intubations and extubations

ICU experience:

Set up and monitored ventilators for patients after open heart surgery and also monitoring patient' s with long term ventilator needs. Documented and recorded resident's treatment, education and response to care

NICU experience included collection of umbilical blood, suctioning and collection of blood by heal puncture for bilirubin levels.

Set up newborns on high flow cannulas.
