JOB EXPERIENCE

Cardiothoracic & General ICU

Providing comprehensive nursing care to the patient with cardiac,respiratory,multi organ disease,spinal cord & head injuries. Assessing,planning,implementation & evaluating the multiple needs of the patient on ventilator and other non-invasive eqipments such as NIPPY,CPAP,Hiflow etc.Monitor the patient’s response to each treatment by interpreting and evaluating by Arterial Blood Gas,ECG,Arterial,CVP,End Tidal CO2 and Respiratory wave form and make necessary changes in the treatment.Respond appropriatly to sudden changes in circulatory,respiratory and neurological status of the patient.Maintain patency of ETT and tracheostomy by proper humidification and suctioning including by using Ambu Bag and C-circuit.Safe administration of inotrops and life saving drugs, such as adrenaline,atropine,sodium bicarbonate,calcium gluconate etc.

Monitoring fluid-electrolyte balance and replace according to protocol.Management of post cardiac surgery patients with IABP,PAFC and pacing. Measure the patient’s pulmonary capillary wedge pressure and evaluate treatment. Management of patient with renal failure Fluid management/hydration Hyperkalemia Acidosis Management of patient on haemodialysis Preparation of the Prisma Filter(CVVHDF) and Vascath Management of patient with spinal cord injuries including use of Stryker frame,halo brace/cervical collar. Recognise and respond to signs and symptoms of liver disease and pancreatitis. Early identification of possible complications associated with acute pancreatitis:

Prepare the patient for weaning from ventilator.Liase with the multidisciplinary team in relation to the progress and planned care of the patient.Provide the necessary informations to help the patient and family adapt to the change.Document care,ensuring an up-to-date management plan is available to all involved care givers.

In Care for the Elderly:

Provide comprehensive nursing care to the resident. Administer prescribed medications and document it.Encourage the residents to participate in their activities of daily living and support them both physically and mentally. Assisting doctors for rounds and carry out orders.Assist the residents in meeting their physical, psychological, therapeutic, nutritional, elimination and spiritual needs.Provide paliative nursing care to the client with poor progonosis such as cancer,CVA etc.

In Medical Ward
