In 1999 Martekware.Com released a suite of management and reporting utilities for IPSwitch’s IMail mail server. I initially wrote this product using Visual Basic 5 but rewrote it a few years later in VB 6. Since then, this product has sold hundreds of licenses all over the world. I’m currently working on a VB .NET version and continue to write new utilities as needed.

I managed the Network Activations Group whose responsibility it is to work with national providers of outsourced field service technicians and all of the national local exchange carriers to install, certify, activate & configure advanced networking services for our customers who range from 3 to 3000 interconnected sites.

Captured current processes and procedures and performed a complete analysis of the existing work flow looking for opportunities to improve efficiencies, communication & bottom line performance.Created a set of standardized templates to capture and display existing processes that, prior to this point had existed only in employees’ heads. My primary responsibility was to document and monitor over 600 new and existing network infrastructure nodes using SolarWinds Orion & engineer tools (SMTP), Paessler PRTG, Cisco Netflow monitoring software and customer written Unix scripts. Part of this role included the creation and maintenance of a database driven intranet website written in ASP.

My secondary responsibility was maintaining and troubleshooting a Cisco based metro area network consisting of over 250 physical locations. I specialized in the configuration and installation of Cisco switches.

Mapped & documented a network of over 600 nodes that had previously been undocumented. Created a database structure to support collected data & a website on which to display it.Wrote a utility in Visual Basic that created a Cisco switch config file and assured that naming conventions were followed and that each switch installation was consistent with other switches on the network.Managed all network implementation projects for the City of Nashville

In 2001, I became a full time employee of ISDN.Net and continued to mange several projects including: obtaining CLEC status, implementing voice over IP (VoIP), developing a web based service management system (OSS), telecom asset management and billing. Two full time programmers reported directly to me and I reported to the president of the company.

In my general manager role, I was responsible for technical operations of the NOC, accounting, HR & inventory control and developed processes and procedures for each of these groups.
