Weihu is a second-year master's student specializing in analog/RF circuit design, and general software development and scripting for test automation. He is under the direction of Prof. Floyd, and he is hoping to continue studying towards PhD degree under the direction of Prof. Floyd. He has done relevant coursework on circuit design using Cadence and Modelsim. The courses he took has covered the subject of circuit design, RF design principles, wireless communications, and digital signal processing. He has worked in the past on a board-level product design utilizing FPGA and microprocessor.
8/2010 – 5/2012, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North CarolinaM. S. Electrical Engineering, Current GPA: 3.9
9/2006 - 6/2010, China University of Petroleum, Beijing, P. R. ChinaB. E. Electrical Engineering, GPA: 3.56Analog IC Design
Designed a fully-differential operational transconductance amplifier using Cadence Virtuoso. IC Design for Wireless Communications
Designed an LNA prototype and a VCO prototype for wireless applications using Cadence Virtuoso and SpectreRF. VLSI Design
Designed a full-custom content addressable memory using Cadence and Hspice. Electromagnetic Simulation
Conducted a microwave imaging simulation with 2D-FDTD method using MATLAB. ASIC Design
Designed an RTL-based Viterbi decoder using ModelSIM (Verilog) and Synopsys compiler. ASIC Verification
Designed a verification testbench for an LC3 processor using QuestaSIM (SystemVerilog).
9/2008 - 6/2010, member of the robotic club of China Univ. of Petroleum, Beijing, P. R. ChinaHe made a robot controller utilizing both an Altera FPGA with Quartus II and a microprocessor, and laid out the circuit board for the controller and motor drivers using Altium Designer/Protel. After that, he implemented and tested the robot control algorithm using C and MATLAB, and developed a visualized operation interface on PC. The controller achieved improvement in convenience of use and was deployed to the team for participating in the ABU Robocon contest. The design was also chosen as an student's exhibit on the 13th Beijing International High-tech Expo.
