Executive and Leadership Coach Client Testimonials

"Janice has been instrumental in my growth as an effective executive, thereby strengthening my company as a whole. Her exemplary skillet including critical listening, issue identification, and resolution development has further provided a successful process for me to approach nearly any management challenge presented. Janice is an "impact" professional whose services and knowledge complement our mission and business model. I recommend Janice without reservation to explore, unlock, and integrate any organization's potential strengths and opportunities across its staff, management, and executives. She brings her winning attitude and methodology to you!" Tim Telman, President and CEO, Bank of Cape Cod

My organization, through a recommendation from my VP and support from our HR department, engaged Janice as a business coach to help me deal with various aspects of management and personnel interactions. Although my initial reaction was one of surprise and skepticism, my final thoughts after the last coaching session had done a complete turn around. Janice used multiple techniques to help me increase my self-awareness; how I was perceived by others; how to become a better (more active and engaged) listener; increasing my level of comfort and confidence in my leadership role; and perhaps the best part of all, being able to improve my skills, but not lose the real me . Janice was kind, always professional, fostered an excellent working relationship and helped me learn how to grow in my self and in my capacity as a leader to the success of my organization. The coaching sessions were incredibly eye opening in terms of becoming more aware of my behaviors and how others perceive those actions. Janice often used the techniques of role-playing (which I became more comfortable with as time passed), self-analysis of behaviors, and feedback. I have learned how vital feedback is to successful outcomes of coaching and to long-term positive impacts! My time with Janice flew by all too quickly, but the lessons learned have helped me succeed in the short-term and are continuing to come through in my ongoing activities here in the workplace. I cannot say enough positive things about Janice and how much she has helped me succeed. In that same vein I wish her all the best in her present and future endeavors, and look forward to continued communications and interactions with her! ~Pam Cardaci, RN, BSBA, CPUM, Senior Director, Utilization Management, Fallon Community Health Plan

I have worked with Janice in various capacities in the health care arena for at least 20 years. In her role as Director of Marketing and Public Relations, she consistently modeled effective leadership, making it clear she differentiated managing from leading. She was creative, energetic, forthright, a team player, and highly ethical in her dealings with vendors, clients, and peers. She has a comprehensive understanding of health care, how the various systems work and do not work, and a special insight into nursing. It was through Janice’s unique abilities that I was educated to understand the critical link between marketing, patient care, and nursing. In my recent position (Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer, Jordan Health Systems, Inc), I frequently used Janice as an Executive Coach. Her background in healthcare and her ability to listen are invaluable. She knows the right questions to ask, when to challenge my assumptions, but is not threatening or irritating. She is direct and truthful but never intrusive or inappropriate. I have found our sessions to be effective, supportive, and very beneficial. Additionally, she maintains complete confidentiality, which I strongly believe is critical to establishing trust in a coaching relationship.

~Carol Dilliplane RN, BS, MS, NEA-BC, Chief Nursing Officer, Interim Management Consultant

I engaged Janice Kinder to coach me on a complicated professional challenge involving interpersonal relationships. In four sessions or so, I was able to gain insights and find the right solution. Janice has a creative, insightful approach to people and work. She has innate common sense which allows her to respond quickly and appropriately even in out of the ordinary situations. She readily rethinks and revises her own actions, a flexibility welcomed by others. Janice has a healthy security about her own gifts and abilities that enables her to genuinely welcome, recognize and make room for the strengths of others. Her confidence and quick thinking make her comfortable with taking initiative and leadership. This is balanced well with her understanding of and commitment to working as a coaching partner or as part of a team. –~Deborah Walters, Evansdale, Iowa, UCC ordained pastor

AppleTree Institute for Education Innovation ( ATI ), a Washington, DC-based non-profit developer of public charter schools concentrating on closing the achievement gap, engaged Janice Kinder in 2007 to facilitate a series of meetings to discuss processes and structures to build our internal capacity to grow with quality. ATI also engaged Janice to provide Executive Coaching, as well as strategic counsel. We engaged Janice with confidence in her ability to provide the highest quality meeting facilitation with value added throughout the process as well as advice on implementation. That’s exactly what we received. Based on that process our organization has managed 500% growth with increased quality during the past two years. ATI had also engaged Janice several times in the past to facilitate board and staff retreats and to consult on establishing governance systems and practices. Janice coaches with a level of ethics, intelligence, commitment and tenacity that is rare in the consulting world. Janice’s insights on leadership and group dynamics add tremendous value to the process. I always learn from working with her and have recommended Janice without reservation to other organizations I know.

- Jack McCarthy, Managing Director, AppleTree Institute for Education Innovation, Washington, DC

We hired Janice Kinder as a long-term consultant to assist us with an on-going board development process. She conducted one-on-one interviews with each board member and created recommendations for how best to proceed with strategic planning and board development. She facilitated a series of staff coaching sessions, board retreats and meetings to implement the recommendations. Throughout the process, she created and maintained buy-in with a very challenging and diverse group of board members. Her professional but informal manner set them at ease and established credibility, not an easy task with often hard-boiled and skeptical fishermen. She never used jargon and was quick to pick up the important aspects of their lives. She has excellent listening skills and is adept at eliciting useful feedback from her clients. Her strategic recommendations were well reasoned and appropriate, resulting in positive outcomes for the organization. She also mediated some interpersonal issues between two staffers with great skill, helping to create long-term solutions to what had appeared an intractable situation. In facilitating the board retreats and meetings, she consistently supported the abilities of the group to take action and move forward. She is truly a "learning organization" practitioner who enables the wisdom inherent in the participants, rather than imposing her own "expert" opinion. I found her a consummate professional - always timely, following through on all her deliverables, providing us with excellent documentation and always a pleasure to work with."

~Melissa Roberts Weidman, former Director of Communications, Cape Cod Commercial Hook Fishermen's Association
