Experience: 1988-2009 Applied Biosystems Foster City, CA

1998-2009 District Service Manager

Responsible for a seven state territory covering the South Eastern U.S. managing a team of up to ten Field Service Engineers with annual revenue in the $3M range. Duties included maintaining customer satisfaction through proper work distribution, account assignments, profitability and expense containment, hiring and firing, and employee development. I also worked closely with the Sales department to insure timely installation of revenue recognition instruments at quarter's end.

I served as the liaison to the manufacturers of this equipment who were located in the U.K. and Sweden, respectively. My responsibilities included training the U.S. Field Service Engineers on the proper repair of these units, assisting on difficult field repairs, and providing customer demonstrations in the lab.

Duties involved the installation, training and repair of a wide array of laboratory instrumentation and maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction. The instrumentation included HV Power Supplies for Electrophoresis, Fraction Collectors, Beta and Gamma Nuclear Counters, Amino Acid Analyzers, Microtomes, HPLC Instrumentation, UV Detectors, Diode Array Detectors, and UV Spectrophotometers.
