In my capacity as Senior Acquisitions Editor, I commissioned and published scholarly and academic titles in research methods and statistics, as well as social, political, health, and evolutionary psychology, and directed the profitable growth of the list globally within the strategic framework of the Brain Sciences Division. In addition to commissioning and publishing books to agreed revenue goals, Isolicited, reviewed and conducted market research for book proposals;identified new publishing areas, book targets, and created publishing plans;conducted profit and loss calculations for potential publishing projects;drew upon a personal network of academic contacts to identify authors and reviewers;negotiated terms with authors and contributors;worked with the publishing team to manage, monitor, and develop signed projects;wrote advertising copy, back cover and flap copy, and solicited and managed blurbs; andpublished, marketed and sold projects on time and on specification for their intended readership.

Additionally, I was the project leader for a major online initiative for the field of psychology. I was involved from the inception of the project, and was instrumental in the design and development of content, working with the psychology editors and an external advisory board. My responsibilities also included market research (both quantitative and qualitative) and working with the IT team to ensure that the online product met the dynamic needs of the field of psychology.
