EXPERIENCE
Cleveland VA Medical Center Biomedical Engineer Cleveland, OH 08/2012 to present
Worked in the Advanced Platform Technology Center, Urological Biomechanics Laboratory
Developed PIC code for use in a micromanometer implant experiment.
Currently evaluating a variety of signal processing techniques for their utility in analyzing the data from a
Wireless Implantable Micromanometer (WIMM) device, a bladder pressure sensor to be used in the
treatment of incontinence.
NanoScape Research Lab Graduate Research Assistant Cleveland, OH 01/2012 to present
Implemented a reconfigurable memory-based computing (MBC) framework using Quartus II and the Nios II
soft processor system on an Altera FPGA (Stratix IV), and mapped applications from the signal/image
processing, and security domains to the framework to validate system functionality
Developed a multi-FPGA prototype to emulate an off-chip memory-based computing framework.
Created a custom assembler to combine several MBC kernels into one binary image file that may be written
to the onboard flash memory for any Nios CPU with appropriate bridges and FPGA pins mapped.
Established the assembly language used to program the MBC framework (hand-mapping applications), and
developed the assembly language compiler
Wrote several benchmark programs in C to test the energy cost of executing various computation kernels on
a CUDA-capable GPU
NanoScape Research Lab Undergraduate Research Assistant Cleveland, OH 09/2010 to 12/2011
Gained research experience through the design of hardware and software systems
Developed diagrams and charts used to model software processes and hardware architectures
Designed a compiler for use with a memory-based computing framework
EZShred LLC Student Software Developer Chesterland, OH 05/2009 to 08/2011
Explored new .NET solutions as possible replacements for existing ASP.NET data-driven web applications
Gained experience interfacing MS Office and third-party applications using C#.NET and external APIs
