HIV/AIDS Experience

HIV Educator and Advocate, 1992 to present.

Has taught over 6,000 classes in 20 public school systems, 50 private schools and college settings,

heath care facilities and for civic organizations, churches and prisons.

Provides HIV/AIDS training for licensed professionals including nurses, physicians, allied health

professionals, and emergency management personnel.

Presents courses and guest lectures on HIV/AIDS topics for all ages and academic levels.

Provides Domestic Violence Update for health care providers.

Organizes and operates four to five three-day education camps yearly for 100 to 150 participants

per camp infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

Organizes day retreats with families infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

Provides training and workshops in medicine adherence, pharmacy compliance, empowerment,

advocacy, and networking at camps and retreats.

Coordinates and conducts monthly HIV testing at Florida Southern College and Lakeland

community locations.

Organizes and presents annual World AIDS Day events in Lakeland, Florida.

Organizes and conducts yearly 500-miles HIV/AIDS Bike Ride Fundraiser.

Coordinates annual holiday gift drive and holiday dinner for 60 to 100 families infected and

affected by HIV/AIDS.

Writes grants and has received grants from organizations such as Pfizer, Lakeland Community

Foundation, GSK Pharmaceutical, Forsyth Foundation.
