Brief description of the project:

In the event that a Member Institution ( MI ) should fail, the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation ( CDIC ) is obliged to make payments to depositors in accordance with its insurance rules, in a timely manner. In order to determine the amounts owing to depositors, deposit liability information would be extracted from MI systems and loaded into CDIC's ROADMAP1system. The ROADMAP system then organizes the deposit information such that payments of insured deposits can be made to depositors. CDIC will either make its deposit insurance payment directly to depositors or establish a bridge institution through which the deposit insurance payment is made available. The implementation of the data and system requirements set out in this document (the Data Requirements ) will facilitate a Fast Insurance Determination ( FID ).

TRAC is an operational system for handling Underwriting, Accounting, Claims, Retrocession processing and reporting. (In TRAC T means Treaties, Certificates, Policies, Contracts; R is for Reinsurance; A is for Accounting; C is for Claims). The System is designed to process Assumed and Retroceded reinsurance for the property/casualty treaty reinsurer. URS (Universal Reinsurance System) provides support for the censurer's Underwriting, accounting, actuarial and claims functions. Retrocession Accounting and Report Writing features are integral components of the system. GE ERC has customized the URS product according to their needs and named it as TRAC.
