Career Objectives: I am looking to forward my career in management. I have been involved in management for a couple years now at my current work place and have since taken courses in different skills involved in successful management. Current Role: Production Supervisor Jan 2009- Present

Job duties: my Current job duties include every aspect of production. I am responsible for hiring and discipline of employees. I am responsible for the efficiency of production, setting the daily goals that every area has. I am responsible for all the training of new employees and retaining when new procedures are brought in to practice. The Quality Assurance Program in our company is also part of my responsibilities to make sure that everything we produce is to industry standards or better. I am responsible for the use of WIP returns in our company and to also find the best reuse for non-conforming products. I am also responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all the paperwork that travels from the office to the production staff and visa versa. In my time here I have been able to reduce costs to a point where we are profitable in a time where it was expected to be a losing year. I have control of the non-conforming product that leaves the shop and reduced it to 10 incidents per year where it was 38. I have increased on time performance to near 100% while the level of rush orders continue to climb. I had made it my goal to learn how to run all machines under my direct supervision which I have accomplished starting with 6 machines 3 years ago to now I control all 16 of them.

Previous role: Lead hand operator August 2006- Jan 2009

Job duties: As the lead hand operator my role was to provide leadership in the absence of a supervisor. I was to have the knowledge of the machines and processes in the factory to help trouble shoot Non-conforming material. I was to provide an example of what was efficient setups and proper use of material provided. I learnt how to run the 5 machines on my area and I was responsible for the implementation of Lean practices for my group of processes. I was responsible for the training of the people helping me to run my area and ensuring the consistency of every foot of product produced and sent to customers.

Skills:

Computer Skills: I am proficient in the use of MS word, Excel and power point as well as various forms of MS office for both PC and Mac. I am able to create and trouble shoot spread sheets and Power point presentations. I know how to use email and many other products available on the Internet. I am especially effective using the Internet to research new problem and actively seeking solutions to up coming problems

Time management: I am responsible for production deadlines and meeting goals set for me and by me. I am able to accurately set and help maintain goals, which are achievable and but also difficult to reach. I have the ability to set different priorities for my necessary duties, while also creating and maintaining checklists for my duty requirements.

Mathematical: I have strong math skills; I have completed calculus, statistics and other university level math courses. I have the ability to find and test formulas in regards to work place production. I can use my knowledge in statistics to scientifically determine root causes to production inefficiencies.

Training: I have been able to complete self-training in many areas. Then to come up with a training program to train or retrain all employees to have a single most efficient production method. I set goals and hold people accountable for what they have been taught to do things correctly every time.

Communication: I am fluent in English and can effectively communicate with accuracy a concept or goals to others. I have also been able to train many workers who have no English speaking ability.

Interests:

My current interests out side of work mainly revolve around my wife and kids. I have two little girls whom occupy a majority of my free time. I go to skating, swimming, dancing, and soccer for their activities. I am also an outdoors person and I take my girls for hikes on the woods. For now we go to simple trails like those found in Fish Creek and at Elbow falls. Later I plan to take them to hike up mountains and to the Ice caves like I used to do when I was a teen and young adult. I go to the Gym 2-3 times a week, while I am there I run two Kilometers then I go lift weights for one and a half hours. I also like do it yourself projects, I have retiled my shower, renovated my basement, build a deck, shed and playhouse in my back yard all in the last 5 years. I have many do it yourself books which I read or I have family which I can ask questions to get things done correctly.
