Core Competencies:

I lead and manage the building of environments where all people involved can contribute fully to group excellence. In school settings I have successfully mentored and coached over 15 teachers and staff members into positions of greater authority. I have instituted programs that have effected major culture change regarding academic achievement and professional development in both student and adult populations. I designed and implemented an innovative approach to accreditation that resulted in a full accreditation term and that is now being emulated by no less than 20 schools in this region. This effort required a complete revision of how data was collected, maintained and analyzed toward achievement of specific communally agreed upon action items.

I ensure setting and achieving high standards for job performance regarding safety and security. I designed and initiated a full redesign of safety protocols for a high school in full compliance with SIMS and NIMS standards and coordinated these efforts with another neighboring high school. I established excellent relationships with community partners and resources that resulted in our school being designated a regional emergency shelter. I instituted the Safe School Ambassadors Program resulting in a 300% drop in incidents of bullying and violence within 18 months.

I assure recruitment, training and retention of outstanding team members. I led the hiring process for a local high school as it transitioned from a single gender to a coeducational model. This required a 100% increase in workforce. I assisted in the development of the interview process, selection of candidates and final hiring decisions. Further, I managed and/or directly presented initial trainings and orientations, job assignments, performance standards and reviews. I also supervised the training of all existing team members (both faculty and students) who were being advanced to supervisory or leadership roles. Faculty participation in non-mandatory school events increased by 65% and students participation in leadership increased by over 300%.

I motivate community members to embrace and meet or exceed behavioral and performance standards. I revised and implemented the discipline model employed by a local high school that resulted in the retention and successful matriculation of 43 students and 3 faculty members whose out of bounds behaviors would have previously resulted in expulsion or termination of employment. Further, this model included means of early identification of and intervention regarding at risk attitudes and/or behaviors. This effort prevented numerous occasions in which more severe discipline would previously have been required.

I discern and partner with others in developing and achieving realistic life and professional goals. Both as a team member in residential and out patient treatment settings and as a teacher and administrator at schools, I have
