I have more than a decade's worth of experience as a Controller/Accounting Manager of companies in very diverse industries. My experience in these roles as the key financial part of the management teams of these companies will be instrumental in my transition to a new organization. I am an effective leader in regards to supervising and motivating many different areas my responsibilities in these organizations. These areas include up to 8 direct reports in the accounting, costing, IT and HR functions. Additional strengths include maintaining the general ledger, financial statement preparation, financial analysis, budgeting, cash management, and internal and external reporting.

March 2009-Present Controller/Accounting Manager, Custom Products Corporation

* Manage financial and accounting functions for a manufacturer generating annual sales in excess of $25 million. Accountability extends to financial statements, profit and cash flow analysis, management of lines of credit, costing, human resources and information technologies for three related companies within the organization. As management team member, participated in expense forecasting and cash management strategies.

* Corporate liaison with lenders, insurance, and outside accounting review services. Report directly to Vice President of Operations.

* Selected Contributions:

- Revised corporate structure to accurately reflect the results of each individual company in addition to the results in their entirety.

- The financial part of the negotiating management team on long-term cost-plus contracts with the company's largest clients.

- The company's financial representative in the review meetings on the results of the above mentioned cost-plus contracts. I explained variances in the actual results and met with clients to review areas where potential cost savings exist.

- Established overhead budgeting system to compare actual results against expected costs. Perform analysis on the results to determine areas potential savings existed.

Accountability extends to financial statements, profit and cash flow analysis, management of lines of credit, and human resources for the two related companies. Supervised three accounting direct reports between the two companies that were located in two different states. Assisted in the transition to new software systems for both companies.

1999-2008, Controller, Westropp Building Company, Inc.

* Manage financial, accounting, and human resource functions for a construction company that generated annual sales in excess of $10 million. Maintained the general ledger and completed month and year end closing. Performed budgeting, forecasting, and other accounting analysis to improve the company's financial position. Wrote contracts using AIA software

* Corporate liaison with insurance company, outside accounting, and banking contacts. Responsible for communicating results with all in regards to financial performance. Reported directly to the CEO.

1998-1999 Cost Accountant, Lincoln Electric Company

Performed general cost accounting tasks. Prepared spreadsheets to track and analyze inventory usage, and assisted in the inventory by entering count information. Helped transition to a new software system.

1996-1998 Material Control, Keithley Instruments, Inc.

Responsible for cycle counts of raw materials inventory to limit the need for an annual inventory to be performed. Helped perform inventories in the alternating years they were still required. Compared requisitions and returns of materials against reports on a daily basis to help ensure the accuracy of the inventory totals.
