RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Research/Project Experience:
06/2002 to 08/2002: Summer Intern with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Duke
University. Worked on device-energy-minimizing algorithms for portable, wireless, and real-time systems.
Developed a heuristic algorithm called Device Energy Optimizer that cuts down energy consumption of
devices by up to 40%. Also came up with improvements to an existing optimal algorithm that resulted in a
99% reduction in running time and a 30% decrease in memory usage.
Since 09/2001: Graduate Assistant with the Department of Computer Science, LSU. Responsibilities include
assisting in systems administration and network maintenance of Windows 2000, UNIX, and LINUX
workstations.
09/2001 to 01/2002: Programming Analyst with Survey Communications, Inc., Baton Rouge. Responsibilities
included design and implementation of software and web projects. Projects details available upon request.
05/2001 to 08/2001: Summer Intern with the National Center of Supercomputing Applications (NCSA),
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). Worked on defining research and infrastructure
requirements for efficient motion imagery. (Motion imagery is the process of capturing, storing, indexing,
retrieving, and analyzing images captured over time.)
06/2000 to 01/2001: Graduate Research Assistant with the Center for Simulation of Advanced Rockets (CSAR),
Department of Computer Science, UIUC. Upgraded POLARIS to make it compatible with FORTRAN90.
(POLARIS is a parallelizing compiler initially built (using C++) for FORTRAN77 by the CSAR group.)
10/1999 to 12/1999: Software Developer at Kanthishikara Solutions, Hyderabad, India. Designed and developed
several database projects (listed above) using Oracle and Developer2000.
Teaching Experience:
01/1999 to 07/1999: Faculty (UNIX, C, and C APTECH Computer Education (India) Limited, Hyderabad,
India. Taught theory and lab sessions and designed examinations in UNIX, C, and C++.
PUBLICATIONS
An Efficient Energy-Optimal Device Scheduling Algorithm for Hard Real-Time Systems (primary author). Submitted for
review to Real-Time Systems.
AWARDS RECEIVED
Award for Excellence in Academics from APTECH Computer Education (India) Limited in September 1999 for
being the topper in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India in the 3rd as well as 4th semester country-wide examinations.
