Country GM (President & Board Member)

Started North American Subsidiary of privately held Multi-National Company headquartered in Denmark (additional subsidiaries located in France, Germany, Italy, and Spain). Worldwide supplier of high quality electro-mechanical gas instrumentation (extended shelf life) for on-line process control, packaging and laboratories. Responsibilities included strategic leadership role executing corporate strategies while driving both revenue growth and profit improvement. Further, developed growth strategies through direct sales (B2B), service, distributors, network partners, and OEMs.

* Consistently produced sales growth (achieved YTD 30% growth prior to acquisition), while maintaining expenses and improved bottom line (returned 12%).

Reported directly to VP Operations and Founders with responsibility for entire manufacturing engineering department in three facilities and prototype shop.

* Oversaw the successful introduction of new products, new equipment and new processes.

* Insured sterile packaging and device labeling according to GMP requirements and FDA approvals.

EXOGEN, Inc., (Acquired by Smith & Nephew), Piscataway, NJ 1994-1996

Operations Manager

Start-up company for a new medical device approved by the FDA to accelerate fracture healing time utilizing

Ultrasound technology.

* Successfully transferred the device technology from an outside contract manufacturer to in-house manufacturing.

* Designed and validated an in-house mfg. facility ultimately receiving FDA approval to manufacture in house.

* Scheduled, maintained, and budgeted production.

* Implemented a cost cutting program, which reduced PCB costs by more than 33%.

* Assisted with the development of a PMA supplement for a next generation product.

* Developed a domestic refurbishing process which reduced manufacturing costs by an estimated $1.25 million/year.

Pal Pak Pharmaceuticals, (Calcium Alginate wound care product), Allentown, PA 1993 - 1994 Consultant (10 Month Contract to start-up and approve facility)

* Transferred Technology from a contract designer to a new facility which lead to the successful start-up of a new wound care product (calcium alginate) product.

* Qualified equipment and validated the processes.

* Successfully completed an audit of the facility and process by the customer (Smith & Nephew).

HYMEDIX International, Inc., (Hydrogel wound care dressing), Dayton, NJ 1991 - 1993

A medical device manufacturer in which responsibilities ranged from establishing all aspects of an FDA compliant manufacturer to purchasing, qualifying vendors, shipping, and receiving.
