To Whom It May Concern:
It is with great pleasure that I recommend Ms. Angelyn Cheatham. I have known Ms.
Cheatham for three years. She is currently the primary teacher for my daughter Anika,
having previously taught my daughter Megan. After watching Megan thrive under her
tutelage my wife and I made it a point to request Ms. Cheatham for Anika.
As our society continues to leverage technology in more and more aspects of our
everyday lives, it is critical that we continue to integrate technology into the classroom.
To effectively accomplish this goal you must have individuals who are passionate about
the integration, someone who is willing to champion the cause. Ms. Cheatham is that
someone. With her leadership the class has won two grants from Sonic for classroom
technology. She has encouraged online contests via Study Island, involved the class in
blogs, encouraged participation in the classroom web site and numerous other IT related
projects. She is also a fantastic educator.
It is critical that our educators understand the vital role that technology will play in the
future of our country. I work for a major IT consulting company, I understand the
criticality. After watching Ms. Cheatham educate two of my daughters, I can assure you
she understands it as well. More importantly she has stimulated her student s interest in
technology. She would be an outstanding asset to your organization; it is with
considerable joy that I offer my emphatic endorsement.
Sincerely,

Jasna Aliefendic To Whom It May Concern,
Technology Facilitator
It is my privilege to write this letter in recommendation of Angelyn Cheatham who has
been a Technology Integration Coach at Dorsey Elementary for the past few years.
Angie is working diligently in fulfilling her role in this important extra duty obligation
while simultaneously performing her current teacher assignment. She is gaining many
professional development experiences by serving in this leadership role on her campus.
As the TICs, Angie works with teachers by coaching them in skills and strategies needed
for classroom technology integration. She provides one-on-one or small group
technology training for her colleagues. She often assists in planning technology rich
activities with teachers.
In addition, Angie has already conducted many successful district wide training sessions
at Technology Center. Her positive attitude has proven to be an effective tool in winning
over her teachers. Angie is most definitely leading the pack, in keeping the teachers
informed and trained in technology. Her evaluations are always outstanding. I m
privileged to have such a dedicated, effective teacher serving as the Technology
Integration Coach.
Being a great presenter, Angie received standing ovation at TCEA conference in Austin
for her presentation 50 Ways t Anchor Technology in the Classroom Tomorrow.
Angie has an envious thirst for learning and innovative ideas that never ceases to be
quenched. I personally believe her passion for teaching is refreshing and helps others
look at education through new lenses.

To whom it may concern:
Based on my work with Angelyn Cheatham during her enrollment in the Master Technology
Certification Program as a part of her graduate degree at Southern Methodist University, I would
highly recommend her for a job as a technology facilitator within your district.
In my role as her professor for the MTT program, I have been impressed by her level of
technology skills and the ability to mentor or coach the other students in her cohort. Her talent in
both of these areas will make her an ideal member of your team to help bring other teachers to
new levels of technology skills and comfort. She can help facilitate educators in your district to
become 21st Century Educators.
Angelyn is the ideal student for the hybrid model of learning for the MTT Program. She is a
highly self-motivated, independent learner who strives for only the best in her own work.
Consistently when I need to give other students examples of completed projects, I could pull
Angelyn s because she strives to always Exceed Expectations .
Her knowledge of technology applications, video, multimedia and instructional design have her
already working at one of the highest levels in our program. She will complete the MTT
program in the Fall of 2010 and I look forward to the work that she will be able to showcase.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jennifer Smolka

To Whom It May Concern:
As the former Title I Coordinator for GISD and understanding and appreciating the ever
changing needs of our Title I campuses, it is with strong conviction that I recommend
Angelyn Cheatham for the Title I Technology Facilitator position. She displays an
eagerness to learn, a commitment to the profession, a willingness to share with peers, and
a deep understanding of student learning that make her an ideal candidate for this
position.
While at Dorsey Elementary, Miss Cheatham has been a grade level team leader, held a
seat on our Accelerated Reading Committee, worked as our campus s Technology
Integration Coach, and taught district level classes for the Garland ISD Technology
Department. All of these tasks display the leadership role she eagerly embraces and her
willingness to support other employees in our district through professional development
and training.
Miss Cheatham has been innovative in her teaching by using evidence based teaching
practices to ensure student success. She developed and implemented a math TAKS
academy where students were assessed, placed learning environments to meet specific
objective needs, re-taught, and then reassessed. Miss Cheatham has used various
methods including the use of Marzano s teaching and learning strategies. She has
become proficient in the use of non-linguistic representations such as Thinking Maps in
her classroom to increase student achievement.
Miss Cheatham is quite skilled in the use of differentiated instruction realizing that all
students learn differently and we must find the ways in which to best teach them. In the
preparation and presentation of lessons she incorporates visual, auditory, and kinesthetic
modalities. Throughout the lesson Miss Cheatham involves all students through the use
of questioning and evaluating aimed at various levels of thinking. She also provides
choice in the method that students will use to demonstrate their understanding of the
concepts.
Miss Cheatham is a master teacher with wisdom and insight well beyond her years. She
would be an excellent candidate for a position such as this. There is no doubt in my mind
that she will be a strong asset for your department.
Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,

To Whom it May Concern:
Angelyn Cheatham is my daughter s third grade teacher this year. She has been a
wonderful, kind and patient teacher. What sets Angelyn apart from other teachers in my
opinion, is her ability and interest to integrate technology into the classroom. The
technology she brings to the class is creative, fun and innovative which captures the
student s interests and attention. She takes the same essential elements that every third
grade teacher is teaching and transforms them into a fun, experiential learning process for
our kids!
My daughter often comes home from school excited to share with me, not only what she
learned that day, but how she learned. I find this very exciting as well. We are in a
world with creative, innovative technology that can enhance the learning process for
many children. Ms. Cheatham keeps up with the new technology and passess on the
advantages and benefits of this style of learning to our children. I feel blessed as a parent
to have my daughter in Ms. Cheatham s classroom this year. She has blossemed and
learned beyond our expectations.
Thank you for your time,

To whom it may concern:
Ms. Cheatham is a wonderful teacher. Her ability and ambition to integrate technology
into the classroom has been most beneficial to my daughter. Ms. Cheatham has
introduced an online website to her students that allows the students to blog with fellow
classmates. We as parents are able to view these blogs at home with our children.
Another example of Ms. Cheatham s ambition to integrate technology into the classroom
is Glogster . Glogster is an on-line journal that allows my daughter to show her
creativity by designing her own backdrop and foreground and sharing her creativity and
thoughts with her classmates. Flash drive Friday is also a big hit with my daughter.
I ve seen an increased confidence in my daughter when it comes to using the computer
and I owe this increased confidence to the programs/ideas Ms. Cheatham has taken the
initiative to introduce to her students.
Your association would benefit greatly by having Ms. Cheatham as a part of it. I am
pleased to be able to give her my recommendation.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Iracheta
