PROFESSIONAL OBJECTIVES
Lukas Allenbaugh owns and runs the business Clay Animation Network. He has taught and
produced art in a large variety of mediums over the past 17 years to students as young as 5 and
as old as 70. He is looking for self-employment in teaching the art of Clay-Animation through
summer programs, specialty classes and workshops, and evening classes for all ages of
students. Students who participate in his programs receive a DVD of their work and their work
is also placed on the web on www.cancancancan.com. The long-term objective of the Clay
Animation Network is to develop an online library of student works so that students are
continually learning from one another.
INSTRUCTOR BIO
Instructor Bio: Lukas Allenbaugh (a.k.a. "Mr. A") is presently entering his 6th year in teaching
animation, and his 16th year as a teacher. Formerly a public school teacher and Artist-in-
Residence as a mural painter, Lukas now teaches animation as a multidisciplinary and highly
expressive medium that incorporates basic physics, math, language arts, theater, and visual art.
Lukas is a practicing visual artist and animator and has taught workshops in botanical
illustration, 3D drawing, papier mache, drum building, and comic book illustration.

Animation productions in the themes of "Medieval History", "Geometric solids",
"Brer Rabbit", and "Parts of Speech."
Recently completed educational video with students combining video and
animation to showcase their school for promotional purposes.
EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH THE GENERAL PUBLIC
Animation Booths/ Workshops:
Folk Life 2008-2010: Directed 200 participants of ALL ages to create a combined
metamorphosis animation over the course of 28 hours.
Bumbershoot 2008-2009: Directed over 400 participants to animate a combined
metamorphosis animation over the course of 21 hours. Scheduled to return in 2009.
Parent Map, Ecohaus, Meredith Mathews YMCA, Scheer family Birthday Party: Directed
animation booths and/or workshops for these groups.
Various Public Libraries: In 2010 Lukas has contracts with 5 public libraries in the Seattle and
surrounding areas to teach 1-day, 2 hour sessions.
Presentation Experience:
Presented to entire schools in order to introduce all-school projects, and to showcase and
explain student works by means of speaking, video presentations, and animations.

Kent Elementary School: Kent, WA 2002-2003
5/6TH GRADE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER
Taught science, language arts, reading and advanced math to 5-6th grade students.
Designed and implemented unique arts integration projects in the areas of science, math,
and language arts.
Effectively reached a wide variety of student ability levels through differentiated teaching
methods.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ART SPECIALIST
Bryant Elementary School: Seattle, WA 2003-2006
Taught variety of art skills to 350 students, in K-3 grade levels.
Learned and utilized video productions skills in student-made educational videos, and

Taught over 15 different multi-media units, focusing the students on community learning
and peer tutoring.
Directed and produced DVD s for 350 students, on the subjects of animation and
puppetry.
Incorporated language arts, science, and math into lessons.
Played key role in fund raising for annual auctions through 10 student-produced art
projects.

OTHER TEACHING EXPERIENCE
MURAL PAINTING TEACHER 2003 - Present
Designed educational DVD s and provided setup instructions for the painting of 4 all-
school murals at: Cedarwood and Mill Creek Elementary Schools.
Worked directly with 3 different PTSA groups of up to 30 parents on an ongoing basis to
teach them the overall mural painting process so they could then teach the students.
Each mural incorporates the artwork of every student in the entire school (over 3000
students in all programs combined).
Produced video documentaries of student projects.
PROFESSIONAL ART EXPERIENCE
MURAL PAINTER 1994 - 2005
Directed and took part in the painting of 7 large-scale (up to 120 ) murals in the following cities
for teen shelters and centers, city programs, and personal residences. Facilitated discussions
with various community groups throughout the planning process to capture their vision for each
mural. Lead various age groups of volunteers as small as 5 people and and large as 70 (of all
ages) to paint the murals.

Produced large array of commissions in the mediums of pen and ink, watercolor, graphite,

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
Swing and Blues dancing, volunteering, biking, hiking, soccer, art, choir, percussion,
music composition, improvisational acting, and chess.
