06/09 – Present Title: Support Engineer & Designated Support Engineer Location: Islandia, NY
Support Engineer – At CA Technologies, I fulfill the role of Support Engineer for CA’s DLP (Data Loss
Prevention) software (Formerly Orchestria APM). CA DLP is a full featured security suite that offers e
mail auditing, as well as monitoring and other features. Support involves working with many major
financial institutions to ensure proper functionality. The system is mostly e mail based, and involves
research, learning, and collaboration with development and management to construct viable customer
solutions. Here, I work with mostly Microsoft SQL, a bit of Oracle, and most Windows Server
environments. I use lab and VM environments to replicate customer issues, and QA solutions. The job
entails a wide array of responsibilities, ranging from simple FAQ, to collaborative efforts, designing
implementations, and using moderate Windows networking and server administration skills. This position
has enabled me to experience a variety of industry standard practices, and work with many top notch
financial institutions and learn a sense of their priority, while staying on the cutting edge of network
security.

Designated Support Engineer – A Designated Support Engineer (DSE) is a central point of contact that
provides scheduled technical support reviews, priority case handling, and issue escalation for a specified
product (CA DLP), and customer. As a DSE, I am on call 24/7, 365, when available for ‘Priority 1’ level
issues for a specified client. This is the highest level of premium support for any software or hardware
product available at CA.
