EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
Legal Adviser with Her Majesty's Courts & Tribunal Service (Kent & Surrey) within criminal law

I advise the Magistrates on the application of criminal law, local practice and procedures and

ensure they comply with rules, regulations and principals set by parliament and the higher
courts when making their decisions
I advise on the legalities relating to applications made under the Children Act 1989 and Family

Law Act 1994 proceedings
I assist and explain procedures to unrepresented parties in both criminal and family cases

ensuring that they understand the legal obligations of the court
I take sole responsibility for performing case management hearings and executing these in

line with both local and national targets

In this temporary contract placement, my role required me to accurately enter both legal and non legal

In this fixed term contract I dealt with the preparation of criminal cases for the crown prosecutors,
managed case files and related correspondence. I learnt the importance of maintaining an effective
working system and team work.
Paralegal with Garcha & Co. Solicitors (London) June 1998 – August 2000
In this part time work whist completing my legal studies, I assisted fee earners in dealing with
correspondence from the courts, probation, solicitors and clients, prepared and delivered briefs to
counsel and shadowed and assisted professional representatives in court. I learnt the importance of
client confidentiality, effective legal research and communication with client.
OTHER PERSONAL INFROMATION
I have a keen interest in travelling to other countries and learning about the different legal systems and
cultures of the world. Given the opportunity I would like to bring this personal interest into my work life
and become an international advocate of law.
