Dear Human Resource Manager,

Please consider me a serious applicant for the position of a Phlebotomist in your office. Along with my resume as a first step in recognizing my qualifications.

Currently as a professional Sentara Lab Tec, as well as of my fourteen months of in class/clinical training at Medical Careers Institute, I have the abilities to perform the following duties:

State the necessity for legal and ethical responsibilities in maintaining charts and patient confidentiality while in the clinical working under the HIPAA guidelines.

Demonstrate identified skills in the laboratory.

Safely assist with procedures, treatment, and care of patients in the medical office while practicing standard precautions and adhering to OSHA guidelines.

Use word processing skills; correctly maintain and assist with medical records, forms, correspondence, reports and accounts in the medical office. Be eligible to sit for the Certified Medical Assistant Exam through AAMA and/or the RMA exam by AMT.

Prepared for the Phlebotomy exam for certification as well.

Some work qualifications of mine include, self motivation, flexible in scheduling, able to work with a minimum amount of supervision, a team player.

I had been recently employed with Sentara Norfolk General Hospital on the Phlebotomy team.

I travel using my own transportation servicing Sentara Nursing facilities performing lab draws, and performing blood cultures as pertaining to doctors orders. I’d work from 4am till 12:30am or later. After the morning run, I work out of all Sentara central testing’s. I fill in where ever I’m needed. I run Stats, as well as go behind other Lab Tec’s doing there can’t sticks. I’d like to come join your office with most respect. I would perform excellent skills, as a Professional Lab Technician.

Thank you for this opportunity for considering me for this position. Please call for an interview to discuss how my qualifications will benefit you and your office. You may contact me Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm at Home 757-***-**** & 757-***-**** cell. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Donna F. May
