MARITIME EXPERIENCE
INTERN • Military Sealift Command/USNS Laramie
Served as Deck Cadet on a 700 ft. tanker which transported and supplied replenishments for
the US Navy. Stood watch as Helmsman on 12 to 4 bridge watch while at sea. Participated in
underway replenishments, maintenance and repairs while at port. Traveled from US Naval
Base at Norfolk, VA, to NATO refueling depot in Loch Striven, Scotland. Completed four
transits through the English Channel, the Straights of Dover and to Portsmouth, England.
Handled lines, communicated with other ships and maintained deck machinery. (2009)
ABLE SEAMAN • Icicle Seafoods - Seattle, WA
Served as AB in charge on the processing barge P/V Arctic Star during transit from Dutch
Harbor, AK to Dillingham, AK. Duties included: overseeing emergency drills, assisting in
anchoring and towing operations, the loading and unloading of cargo, keeping the vessel’s log,
and running routine safety rounds. Stood twelve hour daily bridge watches on transit from
Seattle to Unalaska Island, AK while serving onboard the 380 ft. processing ship the M/V
Northern Victor. Night bosun on the M/V Gordon Jensen, a 320 ft. fish processing ship.
Oversaw all nighttime deck operations with a crew of three deckhands. (2012)
