July 2006 to July 2009 - Medical Transcriptionist, Transcription South,
Inc, Clearwater Florida
Remote/Home-based transcriptionist employed by the organization to provide
transcription services to various hospitals and clinics under their
control. Executed knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology
and rules of English and grammar to transcribe quality reports dictated by
physicians and other medical staff for inclusion into the patient's
permanent medical record files. Edits dictation for clarification purposes

Creation of medical reports using transcribing devices and computers
preinstalled with transcribing software. Operated computer/word processor
with foot pedal or wav device to listen to and transcribe reports dictated
by physicians and other healthcare professionals dictating a wide variety
of medical reports, primarily radiology reports, operative reports, history
and physicals, clinic notes, consultations and discharge summaries.
Verified accuracy of patient demographic information such as name and other
identifying criteria. Resolved problems associated with formatting and
template creation. Proofreads and edits medical reports for correct
punctuation, spelling and grammar to ensure accuracy and completeness in
compliance with departmental policies, standards and protocol. Maintains
confidentiality of all transcribed materials in compliance with HIPAA
regulations and directives. Delivered reports to physicians and medical
offices in printed and/or electronic form for review/signature and

Controlled and managed delinquency rates by contacting accountholders to
discuss status of past due lease and retail automobile accounts. Responded
to customer issues when presented with difficulty making scheduled payments
due to financial or other hardships in an attempt to determine a viable
solution to resolve past due status of their account. Arranged payment
plans and advised of payment options. Provided credit and payment history
information when requested. Assisted customers with issues such as lost or
misapplied payments and elevated issues such as payment disputes or
complaints, etc, which could not be resolved at the associate level to

dispatch cards and entered into computer billing system. Maintained and

information on insurance plans (if any) and submit billing information to
Medicare, Medicaid, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield through the online billing
