OBJECTIVE/HISTORY
To make effective use of my professional experience, educational background
and personal attributes. I have been welding and fabricating for over 25
yrs. and have a vast amount of knowledge and experience that I enjoy
sharing with people who are learning the trade. Which includes but not
limited to building food processing equipment, automotive tooling, tool/die
and machinery repair. Injection molding and general plant fabrication and
maintenance. Manufacturing of commercial truck bodies, prototype vehicles,
new product development and production launch. Parts and weldments for
agriculture, industrial/commercial tractors and aerospace.
Automotive/motorcycle custom fabrication and restoration. Welding with
several processes on many types of materials including aluminums, stainless
steels, carbon steels, tool steels, titanium and structural steels ranging
from 18 ga. to 4in. plate. Certifiable with GMAW (including short, spray,
pulse transfers) SMAW, GTAW (with and without pulse) and FCAW (both with
and without shielding gas ) processes in 1-4 F and 1-6 G positions. Robotic
and Laser Welding operations. Several professional trainings during my
career totaling over 30 Continuing Education Units, to include a Welding
Instructors Course at Lincoln Electric and Hobart Institute of Welding.
American Welding Society member. A.A.S. in Industrial Technology,
Journeyman Card in Industrial Sheet metal. Over two years as a Welding
Instructor and three years as a Welding Lead/Supervisor. Authorized to
teach and train students or employees in OSHA 29 CFR 1910 General Industry
issuing 10 or 30 hr. card. Studying for AWS Certified Welding Inspector/
Certified Welding Educator (CWI/CWE)
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
Set-up and operate hydraulic and manual press brakes, hydraulic and manual
sheer and rollers. Blueprint reading, drafting/design, layout, pattern
making, metal finishing, fabricating and various types of welding which
includes SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, LBW, plasma, CAC-A, oxy / fuel operations.
Mechanically inclined in many areas. Experience in piping and pipe fitting.
Operation of many small and large hand, electrical and air tools. Drill
press, mill and lathes, saws, iron workers, rollers etc... Measuring
devices such as micrometers, calipers, comparator, welding inspection
gauges, multi-meter, strain gauges, load cells.
Computer operation's including, Microsoft Office (outlook, excel, word) CAD
(Solid Works). Experience with lean manufacturing, kaizen events, 5S,
production process improvements and quality assurance. Received Journeyman
Card for Industrial Sheet metal/Tinsmith through UAW Local 708 on 10-27-95.
Experience with chain fall's/hoist, jib, gantry and multi-directional
crane's. Familiar with AWS/ANSI/ASME symbols, AWS WPS, PQR, and WPQ. AWS QC
10 and AWS D1.1 code books.
AWS A 2.4, AWS A 3.0 and several other AWS reference publications. Safety
team member with previous employers and some Spanish speaking ability.

WORK OF EXPERIENCE

Title: Welding Instructor
Teach/Train adults basic welding skills using the SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW
arc welding processes. Adhering to the American Welding Society SENSE Level
1. Ensuring that students are able to pass 1-4 F, 1-4G plates, fabricated
weldments and written tests for certification. Courses include Hobart
Welding curriculum, video's etc., Modern Welding 4th edition, visual aides,
blueprints, welding symbols, lectures and lab time. Introduction to
oxygen/acetylene, carbon arc cutting and plasma cutting operations.
Destructive and non-destructive testing methods. Train students in OSHA 29
CFR 1910 General Industry so that they can receive 10 hr. card. Student
retention and goal setting, evaluations, performance reviews. Interactions
with employers both locally and abroad to help students attain employment.

Operate laser welder and machinery to produce fabricated products for the
Aerospace industry. Working with titanium materials ranging from .080-.125
using the LBW process. PT, RT, and UT NDT testing methods.
9/08 to 2/09, MISA Fabricating Inc. Louisville, KY
Title: Weld/Fabricating and Brake Press Lead.

Supervise the personnel and production of these areas. Conduct interviews,
performance reviews etc. Coach, lead and train individuals in welding
processes, fabricating weldments adhering to WPS and ensure P.M.'s are
completed on related equipment and machinery. Welding processes include
GTAW, GMAW both semi- automatic and robotics on carbon steels. Producing
products for the agriculture and commercial tractor industry (i.e. CNH,
Komatsu, Toyota etc.) Plant improvements, weld inspections, quality checks.

Responsible for creating prototype products (commercial truck bodies etc.)
from engineering drawings and CAD models. Utilizing items such as steel,
aluminum, composite plastics, wood based and hybrid materials working with
various types of hand, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic tools, mills and
lathes. Jig and fixture design for new and existing manufactured products.
Involved with new product development. Lead small team with production line
and launch support. Interact with suppliers to establish AWS WPS's. Quality
Assurance and first piece part inspection. Welding and fabricating using
the GMAW, and GTAW process on steels and aluminum. Assist with development
ideas and installation techniques. Organize/maintain R&D/model shop,
equipment and supplies. Supervise and train personnel in welding techniques
and processes using Hobart curriculum.

Title: Millwright/Set-Up.
Responsible for changing tooling or complete machine change over on multi
station CNC machine centers. General machine repairs, welding, fabricating
and plant improvements.

Plasma, oxygen and acetylene operations (including brazing). Responsible
for managing, inventory and ordering of supplies for the welding and
fabricating dept. Implemented and maintained a preventive maintenance
schedule on R&D facility and production machinery, fabrication equipment
etc. This included basic electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics etc. and
general plant maintenance.
