EXPERIENCE:
Nokia Telecommunications Inc
., Burlington, MA
Senior Systems Test Engineer, 12/97 - present
Responsible for design and implementation of an automated
testing environment and system testing of IP router products.
* Developed tests using Tcl and C programming libraries to
verify router conformance to Internet RFC based
specifications. Developed on Windows NT and UNIX platforms.
* Configured network scenarios in the lab for testing various
interfaces and protocols such as IP, ICMP, PPP, ATM,and
Frame Relay using Cisco routers, the Cisco LS-1010 ATM
switch, SmartBits 2000 and Tekelec traffic generators.
* Developed a tool using Tcl/Tk and Scotty to verify a
network devices' SNMP MIB implementation.
* Periodically gave demos of the automated test environment to
managers and other groups within Nokia.
The Open Group Research Institute, Cambridge, MA
(Formerly the Open Software Foundation
)
Research Engineer, QA Group1/96 - 12/97
Responsible for designing and implementing automated testing
environments using C, C++, and Tcl/Expect on UNIX and
Windows NT platforms and testing of WWW server technology
and research prototypes of advanced UNIX OS technology.
* Developed an Automated Test Facility (ATF) using Tcl/Expect
used to test the OSF/1 AD UNIX OS on the Intel x86 and
HP PA-RISC platforms.
* Developed clients and servers in C, C++, and Tcl fortesting
a Scalable Highly Available Web Server (SHAWS). The
clients and servers sent HTTP messages to SHAWS middleware
components to test for correct handling of the HTTP headers.
* Developed a test framework based on the DejaGnu testharness
to control the clients and servers remotely by sending them
messages to synchronize their actions.
* Enhanced and maintained the Webstone web server benchmark
and used it to generate load on a web server.
Systems Administrator/Software Engineer, 8/92 - 1/96
Responsible for a variety of systems administration and
software maintainence tasks in support of a self-hosting
development environment.
* Ported and maintained the XFree86 X server for the OSF/1
UNIX server running on the Mach microkernel.
* Used Kerberos C libraries to enhance internally developed
source control tools to authenticate with secure file
servers.
* Modified device drivers to enable the Mach microkernel to
probe for devices on the ISA bus when a new adapter or
revision of an adapter was needed.
* Responsible for administration of the Research Institute's
AFS cell. Supported AFS for 9 HP-UX file servers serving 40G
of disk space and over 200 AFS clients on diverse platforms
such as OSF/1, HP-UX, Digital UNIX, AIX, NeXT, Linux, and
FreeBSD.
Workstation Solutions, Nashua NH
Software Engineer, 3/91 - 3/92
Prototyped a Motif based GUI for a UNIX network backupand
restore product in C on HP-UX, SunOS, and AIX platforms.
* Implemented a UNIX filesystem browser using Motif. Developed
a new Tree widget to graphically represent the filesystem
heirarchy using Motif widgets.
Aware Inc
., Cambridge MA
Software Engineer
(contract), 12/90 - 3/91
Ported the Aware Wavelet Visualizer from DOS to UNIX and
X Windows on SunOS. Implemented using C and Xlib.
University of Massachusetts at Lowell, Imaging Research Lab
.
Software Engineer, 1/89 - 12/90
Member of the Imaging Kernel System development group.
* Developed a distributed implementation of the Imaging Kernel
System using Apollo Computers' Network Computing System.
Developed image display servers capable of serving requests
from clients using RPC. Developed in C on the ApolloUNIX
platform.
* Responsible for porting the Imaging Kernel System tovarious
UNIX platforms (SunOS, HP-UX, DG-UX, AIX).
