Industry leading data warehouse for decision support, Intranet applications and client

web access. The data warehouse incorporates data from a variety of enterprise-wide

information systems ranging from legacy Mainframe systems to client/server OLTP systems.

Scheduled automated migrations incorporated source data extraction and file transfer, data

validation and cleansing, data normalization, transformation of the varied source data

into a consistent warehouse format and generation of roll-up summaries. Large databases

necessitated software design and programming considerations to reduce the impact on other

database users yet achieve sufficient performance to maintain the schedule.

Responsibilities included analysis, software maintenance and programming extraction,

transformation and loading. C programming support to ETI*Extract developers for extending

the functionality of the ETL tool.

Technology: Sun Solaris, AutoSys Scheduler, Sybase, SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers,

shell scripts and C.

* Project Sponsor: Roadway Express

-

Akron Ohio August 1997 - March 1998

Vehicle Maintenance Software System: The system replaced legacy vehicle maintenance

software and paper-based manual processes with a custom distributed client-server system.

Key participant during the project estimation and bidding phase, RFP content preparation

and review, and its final presentation to the client during the vendor selection phase.

Once the project began supported the on-site project management team utilizing previous

client project history. Other responsibilities included technical consulting for the

software design, setting standards and procedures and resolving technical issues on the

project, providing pre-engagement preparation for developers. Training incorporated UNIX

software development skills, Relational Database technology, SQL, C programming and the

Vermont Views API for building the interface.

libraries, Dynamically Linked Object Modules, SQL, Stored Procedures, and Triggers.

* Technical Lead: OneNet, ICI. - Cleveland Ohio July 1996 - March 1997

Process Oriented, Recruitment Automation Product: A custom software solution developed

for high volume, demanding environments with short lead times. This phase entailed

wrapping up the final stages of the software product life cycle before its next

incarnation as a client-server distributed software system. Performed analysis and review

of development and runtime platform choices, developed prototypes and feasibility studies

for select portions of the new system including data administration, security access

controls, advanced querying and data browsing.
