Experience –Manager 32 years overseeing all daily activities of manufacturing in an extremely demanding wood industry that became a world leader through innovation. While employed by Linden Welding and Fabricating Ltd. I was shop Foreman for two years and then General Manager for twenty eight years. My interest and responsibilities included hiring of staff and crew, business management, designing machinery and systems, manufacturing, testing, developing, installing, start-up commissioning, and redesigning the next generation for continuous improvement. We built a solid reputation for quality robust machinery with pragmatic use of the latest high technology components carefully selected for high endurance and long lasting service. This machinery has withstood the test of time with the majority still in service after many years of service.

My recent endeavours following the sale of Linden Welding & Fabricating was as project manager to research and design a new mechanical seedling tree planting device, to meet anticipated worldwide boom in reforestation. I successfully completed the R&D phase which was subsidized by BC IRAP and entered a prototype phase culminated in a completed prototype machine.

I have dialogued with numerous Engineers, individuals and companies involved in bio-energy including boiler manufactures, ORC (organic rankine cycle) recovery, pellet equipment, turbo expanders, fuel cells and bio-fuels.

I have an excellent working relationship with Electrical companies, Controls experts, Engineering companies and Engineers developed over 30 years of manufacturing and installation.

I have a proven leadership ability and have a pleasant that allows me to have a strong rapport with the workforce. The conversational skills to address the new employee or the most seasoned executive with grace and appreciation.

When the company was first established I was a Fitter/Welder and Field Foreman. In 1980 I was promoted to Plant Manager running all aspects of the business including managing a staff of 40 unionized employees. Some of my duties included design, fabrication, installation and repairs of Sawmill, MDF( Medium Density Fiberboard), Plywood and Pulp Mill equipment. I was responsible for managing million dollar projects, trouble shooting, estimating, scheduling, cost control, purchasing, sales, staffing, disciplinary actions and safety were some of the areas I was responsible for on a daily basis.
