Objective: My objective is to obtain a position in which I can deliver high quality care to clients who are in vulnerable situations. I have dedicated my career to uplifting, educating, and empowering individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and those who have acquired brain injuries.
Experience: Life Skills Trainer 10/15/2010 - 03/20/2012
Radical Rehab Solutions
Ashland, KY
As a Life Skills Trainer I supported individuals in a residential setting as they relearned and redeveloped the skills they had before acquiring a brain injury. These clients needed to continually repeat activities such as cooking, maintaining a log of monies, taking medications etc. This position took patience and persistence. RRS provided training to deal with client anger and CPR certifications which are still current.
Employment Specialist/ Case Manager 1/1/2006 - 08/1/2007
Summer Camp Leader 4/15/2008 - 08/1/2008
Residential Habilitation Coach 8/15/2008 - 08/1/2010
Arc of Palm Beach County,
West Palm Beach, FL
I held several positions for the Arc over several years. While working as an Employment Specialist/Case Manager I found jobs for clients with developmental disabilities. I specialized in training these individuals once they had been employed. I also taught a job skills class a couple times a month at the agencies adult day program. During my time in this position I managed a caseload of 20 clients.
As a Summer Camp Leader I supervised employees and the children who attended the camp on a daily basis. I coordinated with the Recreation Director and two other camps to provide a fun, safe and exciting experience for the children. This position developed my leadership skills.
During my time at the Arc I also worked as a Residential Habilitation Coach. This position was very similar to my work at Radical Rehab Solutions. I assisted clients in learning skills of daily living.
Counselor 10/1/2007 - 4/1/2008
Center for Rehab and Recovery
Louisville, KY
At CRR I counseled individuals with severe mental illness. CRR is a transitional facility that aids clients who are getting out of the hospital and who are not quite ready to be completely independent. My job was to help these clients gain the independence that they desired. I also counseled the clients under the supervision of a LCSW.
